Win-It Wednesday: iVillage Summer of Love Gift Basket ($100 ARV!)

May 26, 2010 by Deal Seeking Mom

Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday. I’ll be posting 24-hour giveaways at 8 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. ET to give you plenty of chances to win!

iVillage Gift Basket

As part of the relaunch of their Pregnancy & Parenting site, iVillage recently asked its readers to complete a Married Sex survey. Among the key findings were these interesting results:

  • 63% of married women said they would prefer to catch up on an extra hour of sleep, watch a movie or read a book than have sex with their spouse
  • 31% of women reported that they had a better sex life before marriage
  • 14% of women have participated in sexting, while 17% have sent flirty email messages
  • 44% of women said the quality of their sex life has not changed since having kids
  • 23% of women have sex 1 to 3 times a month

iVillage wants to encourage couples with children to enjoy a “Summer of Love”, and today they’re giving away a Summer of Love gift basket (valued at $100!) to one lucky Deal Seeking Mom reader! The gift basket includes:

  • beach blanket
  • 2-in-1 massage oil from K-Y
  • cooler with plastic champagne flutes, napkins, bottle of champagne
  • Listerine strips
  • gourmet pretzels
  • chocolate covered strawberries
  • fun-shaped ice cube trays and popsicle molds
  • tanning oil
  • scented candles
  • iVillage tote bag
  • red nail polish

ALWAYS REMEMBER HOW OUR KIDS GOT THERE. PAMPER YOURSELF AFTER A LONG WEEK AND GET ALL SEXY-IED UP. BECAUSE IF YOU FEEL SEXY LIKE YOU LOOK HOT YOU WILL FEEL SEXY FOR YOUR HUSBAND ALSO.

A “secret” meeting during the day is always fun and just flirting with each other is sometimes lost in the hustle and bustle of life!

Pick a night and have the kids stay with a baby sitter and go out and do something together doesn’t have to cost anything. Sometimes my husband and I just go out and take a walk together to have some time with out the kids.

We don’t have kids yet, so I don’t have any tips to share. But hopefully with such a lovely package, we might have kids soon! (wink wink)

Leave secret notes where the kids can’t see for an element of surprise. Send text messages of little love notes. Just to make each other know you are think of them. Even if its just a little makeup and a dinner alone without the kids. It goes a long way!

A great way to spice things up is to hire a babysitter and go on a 1-day vacation.

I made my husband a scrapbook memory frame and listed all the reasons why I love him. I think that it is the little things that count after you have children to keep a romance going or to rekindle a flame.

After the kids are in bed, throw on something sex for the hubby. It’ll show that you still care about looking good in front of him. He’ll love it! :)

Get a sitter and go out on a regular basis just as adults!

  27. Sara

    May 27, 2010 at 1:11 pm

Keep it interesting and spontaneous when the kids are with the baby sitter. Planned spiciness isn’t always spicy if you know what I mean. Just get a sitter and go crazy.

We always try to have a date night on Friday night. It’s the only real quality time we get to spend together during our busy weeks.

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
