Win-It Wednesday: iVillage Summer of Love Gift Basket ($100 ARV!)

May 26, 2010 by Deal Seeking Mom

Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday. I’ll be posting 24-hour giveaways at 8 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. ET to give you plenty of chances to win!

iVillage Gift Basket

As part of the relaunch of their Pregnancy & Parenting site, iVillage recently asked its readers to complete a Married Sex survey. Among the key findings were these interesting results:

  • 63% of married women said they would prefer to catch up on an extra hour of sleep, watch a movie or read a book than have sex with their spouse
  • 31% of women reported that they had a better sex life before marriage
  • 14% of women have participated in sexting, while 17% have sent flirty email messages
  • 44% of women said the quality of their sex life has not changed since having kids
  • 23% of women have sex 1 to 3 times a month

iVillage wants to encourage couples with children to enjoy a “Summer of Love”, and today they’re giving away a Summer of Love gift basket (valued at $100!) to one lucky Deal Seeking Mom reader! The gift basket includes:

  • beach blanket
  • 2-in-1 massage oil from K-Y
  • cooler with plastic champagne flutes, napkins, bottle of champagne
  • Listerine strips
  • gourmet pretzels
  • chocolate covered strawberries
  • fun-shaped ice cube trays and popsicle molds
  • tanning oil
  • scented candles
  • iVillage tote bag
  • red nail polish

Best tip for couples to spice things up is to keep doing old habits that you did before you had children. Going to WalMart at 2:00 a.m., basically being spontaneous sometimes

Do thinks that your spouse doesn’t expect. Throughout our marriage I’d do things like wait til my husband was in the shower, then I’d strip off & join him. There are many things you can do from phone calls, notes in lunches or left on the seat of his car. My husband never knew what to expect even after 35 years of marriage.

tip for spicing up the love life….

make an effort every day to kiss at least once!

and when your main squeeze walks through the door at the end of the day, nomatter how grumpy and tired you’re both feeling, make a hug / kiss / snuggle a part of your greeting… a little physical affection goes a long way toward getting the sparks flying!

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
