My best “frugal” tip for throwing a party is having everyone pitch in and bring something that is their favorite!! You get great new recipes too!!:)

I buy things on sale and match the sale with a coupon. Then I still get name brand goods for better prices. :)

My favorite frugal tip for party planning is to go ‘potluck’ and simple. We don’t need to knock ourselves out in order to have a good time. People remember being with each other not what we served.

Since food is usually the main cost of a party, have a potluck instead of making everything yourself. Keep decorations simple; maybe some streamers and balloons. And clip coupons!!

Potlucks are always good. And to save time, I premake as much as possible ahead of time and use the crock pot.

I like to use food that stretches a long way like a lasagna and salad. Filling and relatively inexpensive if you make it right.

My best frugal party tip is to plan and shop ahead. I’m always on the lookout for sales on disposable plates, silverware, cups, and napkins that I know I will use through the year for parties. Shop ahead for food, too–pop pizzas in the freezer when they are on sale, etc.
Keep it simple is a good mantra, too!

I ask everyone to bring something. That way it saves money for everyone and you get a good variety of things.
Lisa Hampton
I usually have a potluck party.. where everyone brings a side dish and I provide the main dish.
Mindy Ranck
I sit down with the sales fliers & coupons & work out at list of what I am going to make & what I need before I go to the store. This usually helps me make a lot of food & it looks like I spent a lot, and makes every hungry belly happy.
