I do all my shopping on clearing and of course with coupons. I allways have a stash of decorations boxed away in the garage.

Take advantage of pre-activity sales and couple the sale w/coupons. There are always SuperBowl coupons/sales/rebates around.

I try to buy androgynous as much as possible so that I can reuse after my girl and not buy new for my boy later.

I just stock pile snacks and dig for coupons and sales before the big event. That way I at least have SOMETHING on hand for hungry friends!

I have everyone bring something to share.

Well, I plan my party foods around what’s on sale and coupons that I can combine with sale items to make them even more affordable.
You don’t have to have lots of meat at parties , just buy sausages or hotdogs and such and cut them into bite size pieces then wrap them in your favorite dough and cook them that way. The meat has become appetizers and are pretty filling because of the dough around them.

I keep my menu simple – too fancy and it gets too expensive! If someone offers to bring something, I take them up on it. A Superbowl party at my house would be something like a box pot of chili, shredded pork in the crockpot for sandwiches, and lots of chips, homemade cookies and big bowls of buttered popcorn. Cheap and easy!

We always have a potluck and we always bring one healthy dish and one indulgent dish. It’s fun to see how fast one dish goes over another.

Plan ahead! You can easily just keep your eye out for things to start purchasing when they go on sale before the event. Then you don’t have one big grocery bill, things are ready to go, and you’re not as stressed planning it right before the event.
