I make my gathering pot-luck, and keep it simple! It’s more fun to chat than over-eat. A yummy balance of fresh veggies and fruit with the classic sides is great!

we tend to do a lot of parties and we will call a theme to each one. Sometimes we’ll do just mexican foods and each person will bring their favorite dish. Anything I make I match up sales ad & coupons if I don’t already have it in stock
I am also on your email and a facebook fan

The best way for me saving for a party is shopping for the plates and utencils @ the Dollar Tree. Then whatever great food/drink deals that are going on ahead of time, that I know of, I try to stock up on for the party.

My husband is a HUGE colts fan and I would love to throw a surprise superbowl party! he would have no idea b/c i told him we didnt have the money to do it this year.

I try to use what I already have on hand (decorations, music, snacks). If I need to purchase any supplies, the first place I stop is at the dollar store. Also, I ask guests to help by bringing a snack/dish to the party.

I try to get party supplies on clearance – or match coupons with sales or clearance paper products – and I keep it all in a box for future parties. Funny tip, but Party City has the most durable plastic utensils – and they are dishwasher safe – I typically leave out a container near the garbage can for forks, etc and then just throw them in the dishwasher to use later. Normally I would just throw it all away, but it cleans beautifully and lasts for several parties!

I always hit the clearance deals after each holiday and buy my decorations that way. I just label the box with the hoilday or season and I’m all set for decorations, napkins, plates, etc. until next year’s party.

I use plain plates, napkins, etc. instead of decorated ones. And of course, use as many coupons or buy as many sale items as I can!

People always ask, “Can I bring something?” Go ahead and tell them, yes! I always like to contribute a dish to any party I go to. It makes it more fun, and it’s an opportunity to discuss & share recipes.
