We always ask our guests to each bring a dish – this helps cut down on cost AND add variety to the choices. I’m a believer in coupons and matching them with sales. I’ve saved so much money coupon-ing!! I always check for online coupons on specific items I know I’ll be getting – by googling and looking on manufacturer websites.

    Geaux Saints!! :)

Yes, I agree the best way to save money is to ask everyone to bring a side dish or drink. You supply the TV, the home, the paper products and some dishes / desserts and you’re all set!

I’m already a member and I follow you on Twitter too!!
    Thanks, Lanie

Have the party at the house with the nicest tv and have all the guests bring a food or drink item. People usually like to bring something anyway.

I make as much food on my own versus catering and of course, use super market ready to serve foods.

To plan a party on the budget (especially kids parties) we all take turns and bring a dish to share to help keep the costs down but we are able to share a nice meal too. I also use my coupons and plan a month in advance and watch the sales ads and match up my coupons for food and party supplies

Serve creative dishes that are easy on the wallet. Limit meats. Pick produce that is in season or frozen. Everyone brings something. And I use coupons when buying the ingreds.

Well, if I am planning a big party, since I’m already the one hosting it, I don’t hesitate to ask those coming or attending (usually this is family or close friends) to bring something that they like to eat. That can be chips or their favorite Coke product. It can also be a favorite side dish they like to prepare. This way, it adds more variety to the choices already there and also helps with the budget. Another thing too as always is to look for sales and stock up on favorites beforehand so I can have them on hand. One year, I hosted Christmas here at my house and we have a big family. I think 27 in all. So, I headed down to a local ‘bargain store’ where they consistently get in paper products like Chinet for very good prices. They have a lot of name brand products that you can buy for parties and special occasions. It’s great. :) So, hope that helps. And the gift card to Wally World would be awesome!!!!!
