I cut my own cheese and make my own cheese and veggie trays. I save a lot that way. We also do parties with friends where each person is to bring something. We supply the main dish and our friends are more than happy to bring something and have great company, fun, etc.!

Try to serve things that don’t cost very much such as crackers that I usually get free and a quick cheap dip. Simple things that taste great, but don’t cost a lot of money.

Plan, plan, plan! I buy everything ahead of time when it is on sale (with coupons, of course) and pay 1/3 the price. I can’t believe that package retails at $44!!! I could get it for way less!!

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
