My frugal tip is to have everyone bring a different dish so the cost is spread out among many people/families. :)

I always stick to a budget for parties. I find out who my guests will be, stick with a color theme and buy the plates and napkins and cups at the dollar store by my house, I clip coupons that go along with my menu and I ask others to bring a side dish or beverage to add to the menu. Also I buy store brands if i dont have coupons as when i set out the goodies in bowls no one knows the difference anyway! :-)

Stock up when you can get good deals on plates, napkins, etc…and go for the ones that aren’t occasion-specific, so you can use them for all different occasions. Also, make your food from scratch or serve stuff you got great deals on with sales and coupons…it definitely helps those dollars stretch!!

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
