My best frugal tip is to do it potluck! People always bring their best dishes, so the food ends up being amazing. It’s a lot less work, clean up and money spent for the host.

Plan your menu around what you have (or can get cheap), versus planning a menu at the last minute, and paying full-price (or close to it!)

Simplify! I always provide way too much food, so have learned making less is fine and makes my life easier.

Best party tip is to make it Pot Luck so the work & cost gets spread around. Thanks for the contest.

I search my pantry for things I have gotten inexpensively and go from there.

For decorations, I scour the dollar store and try to make my own. For food, definitely try to use what I have in my pantry and stock pile and whats on sale. Also, having guests bring a snack or drinks has always worked well too. :)
Emily
I try to buy what’s on sale and create snack ideas from those items.

make your own dips & munchies… it’s far less expensive (and usually tastes better) than store-bought equivalents…

I prepare weeks in advance, b/c I know its coming up and I know we go to the same party every year.
Michelle S
Plan menu a couple weeks ahead and buy what’s on sale a few items at a time. Let others know you will have munchies but welcome them bring any favorites to share. Look for last minute coupons on line before the big game!

my tip is to stock up beforehand, go potluck, and buy the rest of my supplies at stores like walmart or aldi where everyday prices are lower! oh and of course win gift cards to pay for things ;-)

Party planning budget tips: plan ahead! Inventory items you already have on hand (hopefully items you scored for free or cheap) and supplement with items you have coupons for.
