Win a $50 Sears Gift Card (Two Winners!)

December 15, 2009 by Tara Kuczykowski

Sears Gift Card
If you’re looking for a truly flexible gift that’s a little more personal than cash, Sears’ new gift cards may be the answer. Now, you can use your Sears gift card at Sears, Kmart, The Great Indoors and Lands’ End, making it easier for recipients to find something they want or need!

Sears sent me a $200 gift card to experience the flexibility that it offers firsthand, and I have to tell you, it really was that simple. I was able to shop from the comfort of my own home (in my PJs I might add) and check off a good portion of the items that were on my Christmas gift list.

Would you like to see what I got?

Sears Gift Card Purchases at Land's End
I’ve mentioned before that we have a tradition of buying our kids new jammies that are a present from Mom and Dad that they receive on Christmas Eve, so I was able to pick up five pairs of fleece pajamas (2 pink and 3 green) from Land’s End. These should make for some cute Christmas morning photos!

I was lucky enough to get 25% off and free shipping, so that left me a decent amount to spend at my next stop, Kmart.

Sears Gift Card Purchases at Kmart
I was able to pick up the last two items we needed for our two oldest boys’ main gift of the year — a PlayStation 3 courtesy of saving up my Swag Bucks! I had just enough to score this cool metallic blue PS3 controller and the component cables to hook it up to the TV.

I honestly had no idea that Sears gift cards could be used anywhere else other than Sears prior to working with them on this project. Being able to shop multiple stores is not only convenient, but it makes a Sears gift card a good choice for a family gift because you’re sure to find something for everyone between the four stores you can use it at.

But why not try it for yourself? Sears didn’t want to leave my wonderful readers empty handed, so two lucky Deal Seeking Mom readers will each win a $50 Sears gift card so they too can experience the convenience and flexibility!

To enter, tell me whether you prefer to shop online or in the physical store!

I’m a store shopper, online is more convenient but I am impatient so I always end up inline at the store.

It depends…I really like online for Black Friday!! I’m all about online for photo orders, but most other things, I want to see and touch and feel in the store:)

Honestly seems like more and more people now a days are rude, and inconsiderate, and honestly just in a overall bad mood, especially this time of year.

I say online shopping is the way to go. :)

Thanks for the giveaway! I like going to the store and searching through sales racks. Something about finding a good deal really makes me feel good. With online shopping, I never really know what I’m getting.

I love online shopping – in my jammies, drinking coffee. Click here, click there, so many things to see.

I’m a big fan of shopping of any sort! For gifts, I like browsing in stores when I’m not quite sure what I want to get. When I know exactly what I want (and don’t need to touch or compare items), I prefer the online shopping.

I honestly enjoy both but I lean towards preferring online shopping because I don’t have to leave the comfort of my home and it’s easier to be on time for a great deal, I only shop online when there’s free shipping though.

I tend to do alot of shopping online but it really depends on what I’m shopping for. I do enjoy going to the store once in a while!! And I only use online shopping if I can get free shipping!!

I prefer to do in store shopping. I am able to look at my purchases to determine the quality of the goods I am purchasing. Shopping in store also ensures the security of employment for store associates.

I like both! I like to hit the stores and I enjoy shopping online especially if I come across an excellent deal. But to me, online shopping can be a little more stressful…will it work, when will it get here, can I return it? :)

    Thanks for the chance!

I am an online shopping girl. I have twin girls who are 10 months old, and it takes planning and effort to go shopping. I do of course go to the stores with them on occasion, but it so much easier to shop with the click of a mouse.

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
