Win a $50 Sears Gift Card (Two Winners!)

December 15, 2009 by Tara Kuczykowski

Sears Gift Card
If you’re looking for a truly flexible gift that’s a little more personal than cash, Sears’ new gift cards may be the answer. Now, you can use your Sears gift card at Sears, Kmart, The Great Indoors and Lands’ End, making it easier for recipients to find something they want or need!

Sears sent me a $200 gift card to experience the flexibility that it offers firsthand, and I have to tell you, it really was that simple. I was able to shop from the comfort of my own home (in my PJs I might add) and check off a good portion of the items that were on my Christmas gift list.

Would you like to see what I got?

Sears Gift Card Purchases at Land's End
I’ve mentioned before that we have a tradition of buying our kids new jammies that are a present from Mom and Dad that they receive on Christmas Eve, so I was able to pick up five pairs of fleece pajamas (2 pink and 3 green) from Land’s End. These should make for some cute Christmas morning photos!

I was lucky enough to get 25% off and free shipping, so that left me a decent amount to spend at my next stop, Kmart.

Sears Gift Card Purchases at Kmart
I was able to pick up the last two items we needed for our two oldest boys’ main gift of the year — a PlayStation 3 courtesy of saving up my Swag Bucks! I had just enough to score this cool metallic blue PS3 controller and the component cables to hook it up to the TV.

I honestly had no idea that Sears gift cards could be used anywhere else other than Sears prior to working with them on this project. Being able to shop multiple stores is not only convenient, but it makes a Sears gift card a good choice for a family gift because you’re sure to find something for everyone between the four stores you can use it at.

But why not try it for yourself? Sears didn’t want to leave my wonderful readers empty handed, so two lucky Deal Seeking Mom readers will each win a $50 Sears gift card so they too can experience the convenience and flexibility!

To enter, tell me whether you prefer to shop online or in the physical store!

I prefer online shopping – fighting the traffic to get to the stores, wasting gas, only to find out the store doesn’t have what I am looking for (even if I wasted my time calling ahead and being told their computer shows 6 in stock…), then buying things I don’t need or shouldn’t buy (like a quick snack for the kids when the traffic and lines have put us well beyond their lunch or dinner time), not to mention having to try to buy the kids things without them seeing it – or spending $10 an hour for a sitter….no thanks. I get supper started, sit at the computer, see immediately which stores have the items I am looking for, and can compare costs and user reviews immediately (and look for great coupons to reduce the cost even further), then feed the family a decent supper, scanning the store ads online when the ads on TV come on when we are watching our favorite shows/movies, and being able to shop after the family is in bed or before they wake up….that’s my idea of a great shopping trip!

I love shopping online for CDs, books, toys etc. But I am a little hesitant to order clothing online. Pictures can be so deceiving so I like to feel and see those items before I buy.

On-line to find the sale, then brick and mortar to buy if that;s the best deal.

I prefer online shopping except when I am buying clothes. It’s so hard to find the right sizes without trying them on and sometimes returning an online purchase can be difficult.

I like to shop online and in store. It just depends on what I’m buying. If I’m looking for clothing for myself, I’d rather try it on in store.

    Thanks for the opportunity!

I have mixed feelings on both. I do love to shop online and there are many great deals and you do not have to leave the house!!!! I also feel the “Christmas Joy” when you are at the mall and see Santa. I do a combo!

I prefer to shop in store…I’m one of those people that needs to see and touch things. However I do shop online often to save time if I know exactly what I am looking for (and especially for things that don’t need to be tried on!)

I shop on-line & at the brick & mortar st0res. There are some things I can find at Amazon for a much better price, but I also like shopping at the stores.

Thanks for the opportunity to win one of these Sears cards!
