My three-year-old daughter has been asking to see the “Chicken Mucks” movie since she first saw the trailers several months ago. I have fond memories of watching the Alvin and the Chipmunks cartoon on Saturday mornings when I was little, and of course I loved the Chipettes, so we were both thrilled when the Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel arrived on our doorstep last week.

We’re getting to the stage in our family where it’s hard to find movies that will appeal to me and my husband, while still appealing to all of the kids, and this movie totally fits the bill.

Sure Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel can be a bit corny at times, but it has some great teachable moments, and the music will have you singing along — which coincidentally you’ll be able to do all. the. time. with “The Squeak Along” bonus disc. Ask me how I know, LOL.

My husband recently turned our little used dining room into a new office where I can work semi-uninterrupted. So I’ve been having fun searching for new supplies and other tools that will help me manage keeping Deal Seeking Mom running smoothly. • Purple Nano Wireless Mouse — I’ve owned a wireless mouse in the past and was not pleased with it. There was no way to switch it off so it used batteries like water, and the USB connection was huge. Luckily these drawback are both addressed in the Nano Wireless Mouse! The USB connection is very unobtrusive, and when you store it in the bottom of the mouse, it shuts the mouse down. And did I mention that it’s purple?!?

• 250GB CLON Portable Hard Drive — Backing up my data is very important to me. I have several years worth of digital photos and other important files that I’d be devastated over losing. The CLON Portable Hard Drive makes it simple to backup my music, photos and more on a regular basis!

I’ve always admired Carmindy‘s effortless style and simple beauty tips on TLC’s What Not To Wear, so I was super excited to hear that she’s publishing a book, Crazy Busy Beautiful: Beauty Secrets for Getting Gorgeous Fast. My husband is not a big fan of fish, but he’s willing to give it a try every so often. So I fully expected him to turn up his nose at the fish entrées that Sea Cuisine sent us to sample. Surprisingly, he really enjoyed the Mediterranean Crusted Salmon and White Wine & Herb Shrimp. I don’t think he’ll ask for it frequently, but it will definitely add some variety to our menu in the future.
