CVS Scenarios Week of 9/28/09

September 28, 2008 by Tara Kuczykowski 36 Comments

I must say I’m more than a little disappointed this morning. What looked like a good week at CVS won’t be happening for me. Central Ohio did not receive the same ad as most of the rest of the country, and there are only three ECB deals in it. I’ll update the weekly deals with the three measly deals for the alternate ad shortly.

For now I’m operating under the assumption that most people got the full ad, and I’m creating my scenarios based on that. This would be a great week for newbies to get started, because the deals are simple and easy to use!

Transaction #1 (and CVS $5 Challenge Transaction)

BUY (2) CoverGirl Clean Makeup at $5.49

USE $1/1 CoverGirl Product, exp. 10-31-08 (P&G 9/28/08)
USE Buy Cover Girl Foundation get CG Face Product FREE, exp. 10-31-08 (P&G 9/28/08)

Out of Pocket $4.49
ECBs earned $5.49*
EARN $1 on this transaction!
*Early reports are that $5.79 in ECBs is being generated currently.

Transaction #2

BUY GILLETTE Fusion Razor at $9.99

USE $4/1 Fusion Razor, exp. 10-31-08 (P&G 9/28/08)

Out of Pocket $5.99 ($0.20-$0.50 after the ECBs from Transaction #1!)
ECBs earned $5
Profit $4.50-$4.80 on this transaction! (ECBs earned minus actual OOP)

Transaction #3

BUY (4) Post-it Pop-up Refills at 2/$5
BUY (2) Post-it Flags at 2/$5

USE $5/$10 Post-it Pop-Up Refills or Dispensers printable
USE $3/2 Post-it Flags printable

Out of Pocket $7.00 ($2.00 after the $7.99 ECBs from Transaction #2!)
ECBs earned $5
Profit $3.00 on this transaction! (ECBs earned minus actual OOP)

–––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––
Be sure to come back next week, and I’ll show you how to roll over the $5 ECBs earned from Transaction #3 to get the most for you money!

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
