CVS: Even Pros Make Mistakes

June 15, 2008 by Tara Kuczykowski 4 Comments

Yes, that’s right. I flubbed up at CVS tonight, and it didn’t even dawn on me how bad until just now. I should have known it wasn’t going to be my night when I was having mega troubles trying to print my coupons before I left. Unfortunately, we were all out of dog food, so I had to go out anyhow, and I didn’t want to waste a trip just on that.

When I got there, I discovered that they were all out of the Fiber One cereal, and I didn’t have enough other good coupons with me to make the deal worthwhile, so I was only able to complete half of the General Mills promotion. I finally got my deals reworked, but when I got to my last transaction, I only had $5 in ECBs to put towards it. I was thinking they were just all tied up in my unfinished cereal transaction and that I should have paid more attention to the order in which I completed the transactions. I ended up paying $2.70 OOP on that one, which is nothing to the average person, but I rarely break the $1 threshold, so I was pretty unhappy with myself.

Only when I got home and sat down to write this did it dawn on me that my $10 Garnier ECBs didn’t print. Yes, I completely skipped over step number five of CVS for Newbies (check your receipts and verify that all ECBs you earned printed correctly), and now I’m one grumpy mama. You can bet I’ll be calling CVS Customer Care bright and early to get this resolved!

So don’t despair if you’re new to this and feeling overwhelmed. Even us seasoned CVSers make mistakes. It’s a learning process!

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
