Win-It Wednesday: The $5 Dinner Mom Cookbook (7 Winners!)

January 6, 2010 by Tara Kuczykowski

Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday. I’ll be posting several 24-hour giveaways throughout the day to give you plenty of chances to win!

Today is also the last day to enter to win $250 from Lottay.com!

Many of you have probably already heard of $5 Dinners, the blog written by my good bloggy friend, Erin Chase, that shares healthy, delicious, and affordable meals. And by “affordable,” I mean ultra-frugal — every recipe can feed a family for $5 or less!

If you’re already a fan of Erin’s or are now intrigued and interested to find out how you can prepare meals in your own home for $5 and under, you’ll be thrilled to find out that she recently published her own cookbook, The $5 Dinner Mom Cookbook.

This cookbook is jam-packed with not only recipes that can be prepared for $5 or less but also step-by-step instructions and tips on how you can pare down your grocery bill and feed your family for less. This is a must-read for those of you trying to stretch your budgets right now or anyone just trying to save in some areas so you can spend in others!

And Erin’s hooked me up with a special treat for my readers:

7 lucky Deal Seeking Mom readers will each win a copy of The $5 Dinner Mom Cookbook! To enter, share your favorite inexpensive meal (links to recipes welcome!).

+++++++++++++++

Every reader has four methods available to enter this contest. Choose one each of any combination of method one, two, three, or four for up to a total of 4 entries!!!

If you are reading this in your email or feed reader, please CLICK HERE to visit the original blog post to enter. Email entries will not be counted.

I think my family’s favorite inexpensive meals are spaghetti, biscuits & gravy (they like it for dinner too), and tator tot casserole.
Would love to have a cookbook full of new ideas to try.

I like pasta dishes, but I am no Domestic Diva when it comes to the kitchen (great at buying food, not so great at doing much with it.), so I totally stock up on great deals on Smart Ones and Lean Cuisines. At least they are healthy, so I don’t feel quite as bad shipping the hubby to work with them. :)

One of our favorite “cheap” meals is Tuna Tostadas. We use canned tuna, mix in chopped fresh veggies (tomatoes, peppers-spicy and sweet, onions), add in some cilantro, garlic, and lime juice. Then we serve the tuna on tostadas or whole wheat tortillas. Cheap and very healthy!

Our fav inexpensive meal it ….

Pancakes! :) I always make them when the bananas are getting ripe and they taste like homemade banana bread with warm syrup they are to die for!

Use healthy mix and with the bananas they are a “treat” that is good for you and the kids have no idea it’s a cheap meal!

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
