Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday. I’ll be posting several 24-hour giveaways throughout the day to give you plenty of chances to win!
Today is also the last day to enter to win $250 from Lottay.com!
Many of you have probably already heard of $5 Dinners, the blog written by my good bloggy friend, Erin Chase, that shares healthy, delicious, and affordable meals. And by “affordable,” I mean ultra-frugal — every recipe can feed a family for $5 or less!
If you’re already a fan of Erin’s or are now intrigued and interested to find out how you can prepare meals in your own home for $5 and under, you’ll be thrilled to find out that she recently published her own cookbook, The $5 Dinner Mom Cookbook.
This cookbook is jam-packed with not only recipes that can be prepared for $5 or less but also step-by-step instructions and tips on how you can pare down your grocery bill and feed your family for less. This is a must-read for those of you trying to stretch your budgets right now or anyone just trying to save in some areas so you can spend in others!
And Erin’s hooked me up with a special treat for my readers:
7 lucky Deal Seeking Mom readers will each win a copy of The $5 Dinner Mom Cookbook! To enter, share your favorite inexpensive meal (links to recipes welcome!).

Easy & cheap – Saute some chopped onions in a frypan, add a handful of cooked peas or carrots (may be canned variety or frozen mix), then add 1 – 2 pre-cooked Ramen noodles (or equivalent) before adding scrambled egg mix (obviously tailor quantities to suit number of people eating). Tasty with some worcestershire sauce or condiment of your choice. Also a good way to utilize other leftover vegetables – broccoli or such.

We love our meat bun bake reicpe – uses lots of cabbage which is very inexpensive, some ground beef and cheddar cheese which I can always get on sale, and is topped with biscuit mix. Easy peasy, and I make a whole cabbage at once and freeze the meat/cabbage mixture for 2 additional meals.

A big pot of soup using leftover meat and veggies would be my most frugal meal. That, or pinto beans & cornbread. :)
