Win-It Wednesday: Marcal Paper Products Package (4 Winners)!

February 17, 2010 by Tara Kuczykowski

Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday. I’ll be posting several 24-hour giveaways throughout the day to give you plenty of chances to win!

Maybe you’re not ready to go full on green and use cloth for napkins, paper towels, or *gasp* even TP, but Marcal has a decent compromise with their Small Steps line of products. Marcal Small Steps are produced from recycled paper so they’re gentle on the environment while still being easy on the wallet.

We’ve been giving many of the Marcal Small Steps products a test drive around our house, and while they may be slightly less soft than their traditional counterparts, I’d say the environmental impact outweighs any slight difference in quality. If you want to give Marcal a try for yourself, there was a FREE Marcal Paper Products coupon in the 1/31 Smartsource insert!

Marcal Paper is dedicated to providing paper products to consumers like you that you can feel good about purchasing. As an “Earth-Friendly Paper Goods Company,” they believe products should work well, be good for the environment and be affordable. All of their products are made from recycled paper.

Four Deal Seeking Mom readers will win a Marcal Paper Products Package including:

  • Dinner Napkins
  • Napkin Drawstring Bag (180 ct.)
  • Upright Facial Tissues (80 ct.)
  • Facial Tissues (144 ct.)
  • Single Roll Giant Towel
  • 4 Rolls Bath Tissue 2-ply
  • 4 Rolls Bath Tissue 1-ply (1000 ct.)
  • Regular Towels (3 rolls)

To enter, tell me if there’s anything you do to cut down on paper waste in your home.

We print on both sides of paper, then give it to the kids to color & craft, and when all is said & done recycle it! :D

We re use printer paper, unless it has personal info, we use cloth napkins and when I use cotton balls, lile after putting on toner, etc, I then take a swipe at my sink to clean up the ick.

Thanks for this great give-a-way! We use Marcal products regularly and we recycle EVERYTHING possible! I use old scrap paper that has print on one side for my coupons.

I’m a subscriber to Deal Seeking Mom. I started using earth friendly cleaning products when my daughter was born. And about two years ago, we started using cloth napkins instead of paper napkins or paper towels. Really cuts down on waste.

I always keep a hand towel handy in the kitchen to cut down on the amount of paper towels that I use. I also try to use plates instead of paper or styrofoam ones to save money.

We have been trying not to use as many paper towels and more cloth towels. I also reuse as much of the paper that I can when printing coupons online.

We use cloth napkins, and I use washcloths instead of paper towels (except for greasy stuff like bacon). Thanks!

For the last year or so I have been using microfiber cloths as paper towels for windows, etc and then just washing them.

I try to buy recycled paper products whenever possible, use microfiber clothes instead of paper, and use Gdiapers when we are at home.

  26. Emily

    February 17, 2010 at 9:20 pm

I keep the paper towels hidden so that they only get used for what I feel are necessary things (patting chicken dry after rinsing, etc). For hand washing, we use only a towel.

  27. Sarah

    February 17, 2010 at 9:20 pm

The main thing we do to try to cut down on paper waste is to use cloth towels as much as possible, instead of paper towels.

If paper towels are used and only damp from water, I lay them to the side and let them dry for similar clean ups. When I print coupons, if no add prints I turn the paper over to print a coupon on the opposite side.

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
