Win-It Wednesday: Marcal Paper Products Package (4 Winners)!

February 17, 2010 by Tara Kuczykowski

Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday. I’ll be posting several 24-hour giveaways throughout the day to give you plenty of chances to win!

Maybe you’re not ready to go full on green and use cloth for napkins, paper towels, or *gasp* even TP, but Marcal has a decent compromise with their Small Steps line of products. Marcal Small Steps are produced from recycled paper so they’re gentle on the environment while still being easy on the wallet.

We’ve been giving many of the Marcal Small Steps products a test drive around our house, and while they may be slightly less soft than their traditional counterparts, I’d say the environmental impact outweighs any slight difference in quality. If you want to give Marcal a try for yourself, there was a FREE Marcal Paper Products coupon in the 1/31 Smartsource insert!

Marcal Paper is dedicated to providing paper products to consumers like you that you can feel good about purchasing. As an “Earth-Friendly Paper Goods Company,” they believe products should work well, be good for the environment and be affordable. All of their products are made from recycled paper.

Four Deal Seeking Mom readers will win a Marcal Paper Products Package including:

  • Dinner Napkins
  • Napkin Drawstring Bag (180 ct.)
  • Upright Facial Tissues (80 ct.)
  • Facial Tissues (144 ct.)
  • Single Roll Giant Towel
  • 4 Rolls Bath Tissue 2-ply
  • 4 Rolls Bath Tissue 1-ply (1000 ct.)
  • Regular Towels (3 rolls)

To enter, tell me if there’s anything you do to cut down on paper waste in your home.

After I have finished using facial tissues, I keep them in a separate trash can beside the toilet. When I’m ready to wipe, I take two or three squares of toilet paper and wrap the used facial tissue inside, so I use far less tp and maximize our use of facial tissues.

I double side print coupons too, and if I have to dry something that is clean with a paper towel, I let it dry out for another use later. We also have several kitchen towels that we use for most hand wiping/cleanup of anything not gross.

We recycle any paper that we are aware can be recycled. It all goes into a bin and is picked up weekly.

we use paper to get our fires started, we shred it for animal bedding, we use it to line cages, we wrap oily or wet food refuse in it before dispoing of it, line the garage floor with it where oil drip might occur under the vehicle, and the rest gets recycled …

In our house, we save paper, plastic, glass and cans of all sorts.. We usually have more paper than anything. We take about 4 big tubs of paper a week into the school where my son goes because the school makes money off of all the recycled paper brought in.

I use less paper towels and try to use more dishtowels to clean up liquid spills.

We use only what we need for paper products. Unfortunately with food allergies, they are necessary. I like using paper towels that tear a smaller sheet.

I fill a 4 ft by 2 ft container each week with newspaper, cardboard, magazines, and other misc. paper to be recycled. That is a lot of paper. Also, I use towels for big spills of liquid instead of paper towels.

We try to use less napkins and paper towels. I cut the paper towels (and sometimes the napkis as well) into halves for us to use. I also squeeze the toilet paper roll in my girls’ bathroom so it doesn’t “roll” as well, hence causing them to use less tp. I print ALL of my coupons on recycled paper….as long as it doesn’t have our personal information on it, I reuse it!

I give the kids a wet washcloth instead of napkins.

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
