Win-It Wednesday: Duo Binder and Slice Safety Cutter (10 Winners!)

April 14, 2010 by Tara Kuczykowski

Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday. I’ll be posting several 24-hour giveaways throughout the day to give you plenty of chances to win!

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Duo Binder. All opinions are 100% mine.

I recently had the opportunity to test drive a new product called the Duo Binder. What makes this product unique is the fact that it combines the functionality of a 3-ring binder with an expanding file folder, with double elastic closures to keep everything securely in place. Check out the Duo Demo to see it in action.

Of course the first thought that came to my mind when I saw it is that it’s perfect for coupons! I’m a “file by insert” kind of couponer (more on this in an upcoming couponing series), so the expandable file is perfect for storing recent inserts by date. My plan is to purchase some baseball card inserts for filing coupons that I purchase for upcoming deals, as well as printable coupons.

Product Specs:
— 6 tabs/7 sections in the expanding file folder
— 1″ binder
— 6 graphic design styles to choose from plus black

Even outside of couponing, I can see this being a very useful tool for school-aged children. It’s kind of like the modern version of a Trapper Keeper. Surely many of you had one of those in school, LOL?

As I mentioned before, this is a prerelease product. This product is not available in store yet, but Duo Binder is offering a special price online for Deal Seeking Mom readers. Get 50% off your purchase and FREE shipping with the code dealseekingmom0410.

Duo Binder wants to send 10 lucky Deal Seeking Mom readers their very own Duo Binder so you can give it a whirl too. Plus I’m tossing in one of my very favorite coupon cutting tools, the Slice Safety Cutter.

To enter, just share your thoughts on the new Duo Binder. What do you like about it? Is there anything you would add or change?

Ten lucky Deal Seeking Mom readers will each win a Duo Binder and a Slice Safety Cutter.

To enter, tell me how you would use the Duo Binder. Is there anything you specifically like or don’t like about it?

Every reader has four methods available to enter this contest. Choose one each of any combination of method one, two, three, or four for up to a total of 4 entries!!!

    1) Do they come in sizes other than 1″? Size options would be an idea.

    2) An area to place business cards, shopper cards, etc.

I would most likely use it for my coupons. Right now I am using the binder that my mother got from flylady. It would be nice to have the file to file the inserts.

I might use this for scrapbooking…I could keep a small amount of supplies gathered and organized for whatever project I’m working on. I could take it on the go, or do some projects without having to pull out every last little piece or paper I have.

I love the combo of binder and insert area, I would most certainly use this for coupons, like you said just add some baseball card holders and you are good to go. The only thing I would change is to maybe use Velcro as a fastener instead of the bands, in my experience those bands always snap and break.

    April 14, 2010 at 4:59 pm

I think it’s a great tool. I would use it for organizing my coupons and bills.

  20. Kristin

I’d use it for coupons, restaurant menus, birthday cards, or organizing monthly bills.

  21. Laurie

    April 14, 2010 at 5:04 pm

I would use this for tax organization. Pocket for receipts, etc, then statements in binder.

i would use it for my coupons right now i use the envelope, tupperware bowl, loose in purse method, and , as you can guess its not working well, lol, i like the double bind closure, that way it would hold all my coupons without popping open

I really like the idea of this binder. My son will be heading to college this fall and could really use some help keeping organized. This looks like it could help!

I would probably use it for coupons or scrap booking or crafts for my daughter. The only thing that i don’t like is the elastic band closure, a lot of the elastic band closures that I have had either break or they loose their elasticity.

I would use the DuoBinder for my less frequent trips to Walmart, Harris Teeter, and Rite Aid. The pockets would come in handy for sale ads and coupon policies. It would be much less cumbersome than my 3″ zippered binder I use for my weekly trips to Food Lion and CVS.

I think that it could be really useful for organizing my coupons or all of the notices that come home from school & activities!
