Dips are cheap, easy, can be prepared ahead, and served with healthy vegetables (also can be cut up ahead) or free crackers from your stockpile! There are so many great recipes out there for spinach artichoke dip, chicken wing dip, etc. that are easy on the budget and use lots of ingredients we find free or almost free – cream cheese, mayonnaise, mustard, salsa, etc.

An appetizer potluck is great for games, have guests bring an appetizer and drinks.

I stock up on tostitos and chips when they are on sale and make lots of dips from cream cheese I bought before the holidays. Also, I only do BYOB(everage) except for lemonade, tea and some 2-liters.

Use coupons for items I have to buy and make appetizers from the stock I already have on hand. Thank you for the awesome giveaway.

I always make big portions of small things: meatballs, little smokies, pigs in a blanket, quessidillas, things of that nature. Therefore you have a choice of what to eat but you aren’t spending a ton. Also I ask the guests to bring a drink, whether alcohol, soda or sparkling water of their choice. Most of my money gets eaten up in the beverage compartment and it’s something people can go buy or have on hand to bring that doesn’t cost them a pretty penny.

I used the leftovers before I buy new-You might see a Barbie plate, #1 baby napkin or a cartoon character cup. Who cares I won’t spent tons on matching plates!!!!

I always ask my guests to bring a side item while I volunteer to make the main dish. :)

With the way economy is the best budget idea for my party would be……everyone pitching in to bring something and consist of items that are on sale!

Our family are friends are very down to earth (which I love and I’m super thankful for) so we all bring a dish and it obvisouly cuts way down on expenses!!!

I enjoy cooking and wow-ing so I cook most everything for our parties. I keep it frugal by stocking up on sale freezables in advance. Most party foods call for shredded or cream cheese. These come out of the freezer and into a dip, ball, or other appetizer with no trouble at all. Most guests bring something anyway, whether it’s a side or a bottle of wine. FYI a wine rack in prominent display elicits great bottles as gifts.
As always, thank you for the opportunity to enter!

I love having parties where everyone brings a dish or a snack. Other than that, I love to plan way ahead and stock up on things when they are on sale.

Potluck is a great way to have a frugal party. Everyone brings a favorite dish and the hostess is not so stressed out, and it is budget friendly.
Carrie
I usually try to do parties potluck style. My friends usually like to bring things anyway, so it works out well and saves money!
Shar
Plan ahead and make it a potluck, each guest can bring a side to share.
