Ask everyone to bring a little something to share, then the cost isn’t so great for just the person hosting the party.

I think the easiest and most frugal way to host a party is to have a potluck!

I like the idea of having a potluck party. When everyone brings just one item you can have a great party it is inexpensive for everyone!

I supply most thing. I get crackers and chips at the dollar store. I also tell my guest’s that they can bring a dish to pass. 95% that usually show up, bring something!

Go for frugal appetizers/snacks – use ingredients you already have, and/or things that are on sale. And I also echo what the others have said – have all your party-goers bring something!!!

I plan stuff around coupons and sales that are going on. If possible I plan it week(s) in advance to get the best deals.

If it is a quick party, then I stick to the basic party foods and try to make veggie trays and chips at home…saves some money and doesn’t take much time!

Look around the house for containers that can pull double duty and be servers. I used easter baskets we had for serving chips out of at my daughter’s birthday because the color scheme worked. No one noticed!

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
