A big pot of chili (loaded with beans) and served over rice. The beans and rice really bulk up and stretch the chili and it’s a very inexpensive, yet yummy meal to serve at a party!

Some Dollar Stores now have a freezer section in the back. I have found meatballs there for $1, they are smaller packages but still. Also they have chips and candy and other food items too. And you cant beat 1$

I ask guest to bring a dish, but I also watch the sales during the Christmas holidays and stock up on stuff then and put it back, since Super Bowl is only 6 weeks away. I can freeze little smokies and shrimp for later. Helps keep the cost down.

I make my own queso dip.
Get a small pot, like one you’d boil tea in and add a cup of shredded cheader cheese to it.
Turn on low heat, and about two TBS of milk and stir on high cont. add one can of diced tomatoes with green chilies. I like to use Rotel and keep stiring till it’s all blended.
Yummy!

Have each guest bring a small appetizer! (And their own booze!)

My very best frugal party tip – you can pick up items for appetizers at dollar stores for next to nothing.
With your imagination, this will be a huge help.

Stagger appetizers… Only put out 2 or 3 items to start and add a few over time. Food stays fresh and you don’t need to make such large quantities!
