Win a $50 Sears Gift Card (Two Winners!)

December 15, 2009 by Tara Kuczykowski

Sears Gift Card
If you’re looking for a truly flexible gift that’s a little more personal than cash, Sears’ new gift cards may be the answer. Now, you can use your Sears gift card at Sears, Kmart, The Great Indoors and Lands’ End, making it easier for recipients to find something they want or need!

Sears sent me a $200 gift card to experience the flexibility that it offers firsthand, and I have to tell you, it really was that simple. I was able to shop from the comfort of my own home (in my PJs I might add) and check off a good portion of the items that were on my Christmas gift list.

Would you like to see what I got?

Sears Gift Card Purchases at Land's End
I’ve mentioned before that we have a tradition of buying our kids new jammies that are a present from Mom and Dad that they receive on Christmas Eve, so I was able to pick up five pairs of fleece pajamas (2 pink and 3 green) from Land’s End. These should make for some cute Christmas morning photos!

I was lucky enough to get 25% off and free shipping, so that left me a decent amount to spend at my next stop, Kmart.

Sears Gift Card Purchases at Kmart
I was able to pick up the last two items we needed for our two oldest boys’ main gift of the year — a PlayStation 3 courtesy of saving up my Swag Bucks! I had just enough to score this cool metallic blue PS3 controller and the component cables to hook it up to the TV.

I honestly had no idea that Sears gift cards could be used anywhere else other than Sears prior to working with them on this project. Being able to shop multiple stores is not only convenient, but it makes a Sears gift card a good choice for a family gift because you’re sure to find something for everyone between the four stores you can use it at.

But why not try it for yourself? Sears didn’t want to leave my wonderful readers empty handed, so two lucky Deal Seeking Mom readers will each win a $50 Sears gift card so they too can experience the convenience and flexibility!

To enter, tell me whether you prefer to shop online or in the physical store!

I prefer shopping online if I can get free shipping. I love how easy it is and I also enjoy being able to read the customer reviews of each product. However, I don’t like to pay shipping, so if I can’t get it free, I shop in a “real” store.

I prefer to shop in the stores, when the crowds are down…like a weeknight so I can really shop. Happy Holidays !

It completely depends on the product. I’d never shop for clothes online, but definitely do for games/toys/etc. Nothing beats getting something delivered right to your door!

I like to shop in physical stores, unless I can’t fine the items I want in the stores locally or I can get a high number of points from Mypoints.

On the one hand, I like to see what I’m purchasing – and often times I can control impulse buying better in the store. But I like the convenience of not having to drive from here to there…

I like both…online shopping for non-clothes items and going in person for clothing.

Oh hands down online shopping. Either that or shopping at midnight. I hate waiting in lines and digging thru racks to find what I want. Online is just much easier!

I prefer shopping online so that I don’t have to bring 3 young children with me to the store. Thanks for the chance.

Oh I love to actually shop at the store. I love getting in there and bargain shop and hunt high and low for a great bargain. And if a little push comes to shove. That’s okay, I don’t mind it as long as nobody gets hurt ;-)

I love your site, I try to check it at least 3-4 times a week and i’m trying to understand what it means to put your button on my sidebar, so if someone could answer that ? for me I would appreciate it because I am pretty new to all of this. I also don’t know what the Feed is either. Thanks

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
