Win a $50 Sears Gift Card (Two Winners!)

December 15, 2009 by Tara Kuczykowski

Sears Gift Card
If you’re looking for a truly flexible gift that’s a little more personal than cash, Sears’ new gift cards may be the answer. Now, you can use your Sears gift card at Sears, Kmart, The Great Indoors and Lands’ End, making it easier for recipients to find something they want or need!

Sears sent me a $200 gift card to experience the flexibility that it offers firsthand, and I have to tell you, it really was that simple. I was able to shop from the comfort of my own home (in my PJs I might add) and check off a good portion of the items that were on my Christmas gift list.

Would you like to see what I got?

Sears Gift Card Purchases at Land's End
I’ve mentioned before that we have a tradition of buying our kids new jammies that are a present from Mom and Dad that they receive on Christmas Eve, so I was able to pick up five pairs of fleece pajamas (2 pink and 3 green) from Land’s End. These should make for some cute Christmas morning photos!

I was lucky enough to get 25% off and free shipping, so that left me a decent amount to spend at my next stop, Kmart.

Sears Gift Card Purchases at Kmart
I was able to pick up the last two items we needed for our two oldest boys’ main gift of the year — a PlayStation 3 courtesy of saving up my Swag Bucks! I had just enough to score this cool metallic blue PS3 controller and the component cables to hook it up to the TV.

I honestly had no idea that Sears gift cards could be used anywhere else other than Sears prior to working with them on this project. Being able to shop multiple stores is not only convenient, but it makes a Sears gift card a good choice for a family gift because you’re sure to find something for everyone between the four stores you can use it at.

But why not try it for yourself? Sears didn’t want to leave my wonderful readers empty handed, so two lucky Deal Seeking Mom readers will each win a $50 Sears gift card so they too can experience the convenience and flexibility!

To enter, tell me whether you prefer to shop online or in the physical store!

Though I am really beginning to enjoy shopping online, I still prefer being able to see the product in store before buying. I guess I’ve bought too many “great deals” that ended up being pieces of junk to totally change my mind about shopping online just yet :) I do love the cashback sites though!

I like to shop for clothes at the physical store. If I’ve already seen an item in person, but can get a better deal online, I DO IT!

I like to shop online and in the physical store but there is something so appealing about heading up to the computer at any hour of the day or night to look for whatever you want. I would probably do all of my shopping online if shipping were free.

If I know exactly what I want, I always go online first. It’s like visiting thousands of stores without leaving the house. If I am not sure what I want, can’t find it online or if I need hands-on time with the item, I will go out to a store, but I prefer not to.

I like to shop both online and at the store. I would rather shop in the store depending on how fast I need the item and I use online as my second resort if they don’t have the items in store or I need more of a selection. I love sears because they are so giving to Military families around this time of year with their “Heroes at Home” program! :)

I like shopping in the stores b/c I like to actually feel what I might be purchasing, but I think I really need to jump on the bandwagon of shopping online.

I prefer online shopping. I have always hated going into stores, and online is just easier. (But, I will say that since I started couponing, I don’t hate shopping as much…)

I definitely prefer brick-and-mortar stores. It is the experience of seeing it in person and being able to touch it that I love! :) Plus, I am an instant gratification junkie and love to take it home that day…none of that waiting for the mail man/UPS man stuff for me.

I usually like to shop in the store, but if a better offer is online then I shop online. Especially at Christmas time it is fun to shop for others and look at different store windows that are beautifully decorated. The only set back is the crowded stores and long lines, but if you are truly in the Christmas spirit, you are patient with waiting. I would love to win this gift cards, things are pretty tight.

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
