Creamy Red Potato Salad Recipe

July 19, 2013 by Tara Kuczykowski Leave a Comment

Summer cookouts and potato salad were made for each other, don’t you think? And right now my favorite is this simple and creamy red potato salad.

Boiling the potatoes, as with any potato salad recipe, is the most time consuming step, so I like to do this the evening before I’m planning to make it. The dressing can be made in under 5 minutes, making this a perfect party side!

Must Try: Classic Lemon Bars

July 12, 2013 by Tara Kuczykowski Leave a Comment

Lemon bars have held a special place in my heart since I first made them in Home Ec class in 7th grade, so today I’d like to share with you my very favorite lemon bars recipe! Bar cookies, like these, are perfect for sharing at summer cookouts.

Best served cold with a dusting of powdered sugar on top, these tangy, melt-in-your-mouth lemon bars feature a tart lemon filling paired with a crumbly shortbread crust, a delicious combination!

Mini No Bake Kool-Aid Pie Recipe

July 1, 2013 by Tara Kuczykowski 1 Comment

You all know that I typically prefer to cook from scratch whenever possible, but I couldn’t resist this Mini No Bake Kool-Aid Pie recipe. It’s super simple to make, and tastes just like a light and fluffy lemon cheesecake!

With only four ingredients, Kool-Aid Pie is perfect for upcoming 4th of July cookouts. I recommend topping it with a dollop of homemade whipped cream, but a can of Reddi-wip will work in a pinch too.

If you’re looking for a special meal for Dad on Father’s Day, give these blue cheese stuffed burgers a whirl. Drizzled with homemade buffalo sauce, they’re deliciously flavorful and juicy!

We especially loved them on these toasted ciabatta rolls that we picked up at the Walmart Bakery.

Yummy Blueberry Baked Donuts

June 10, 2013 by Tara Kuczykowski Leave a Comment

The kids and I decided to try making homemade blueberry baked donuts last Friday for National Donut Day, and they absolutely loved them! They’re a perfect way to use all of the yummy fresh blueberries that you’ll find in stores right now.

Not to mention baked donuts would be a fantastic treat to include in a Father’s Day brunch this coming Sunday! We’ll definitely be making a batch for my hubby.

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
