National Fresh Breath Day Giveaway #SonicareChallenge

August 6, 2010 by Tara Kuczykowski

Today is National Fresh Breath Day, a day to discuss the importance of oral hygiene, and the importance of having minty fresh breath. Coincidentally, it also happens to be my 6-year-old daughter’s birthday — just look at those beautiful, pearly whites thanks to her new Sonicare for Kids toothbrush! (Happy Birthday, Baby!!!)

Seriously, this was a child that I battled with regularly over brushing her teeth, and she’s now thrilled to brush her teeth every morning, noon, and night. These brushes are on the pricey side, but the savings we’re sure to see on dental bills makes them a much more reasonable proposition. Three cheers for clean teeth without any arguments!

In celebration of National Fresh Breath Day, Sonicare would like to give one lucky Deal Seeking Mom two Sonicare brush head refills for the Sonicare toothbrush of your choice!

To enter, just tell me what teeth brushing is like in your household. Are you a three-times-a-day brusher? Is it a struggle to get your kids to brush their teeth regularly?

This giveaway ends at 11:59 a.m. ET on Monday, August 9th and is open to all U.S. residents 18 years or older. I’ll use Comment Contest to select the winning comment. Winner will be notified by email and listed on my Giveaway Winners page. Winners must respond within 24 hours of notification to claim their prize. Good luck!

To find more chances to win, check out all of the #SonicareChallenge action on Twitter, Whrrl, and SonicareChallenge.com!

The challenge is getting my 3 year old to brush correctly — she loves to brush her way :) My husband and I brush twice a day.

After my husband has had two teeth extracted and a crown put in, we have become a better brusher household. My kids fight brushing their teeth, but now it is a hit and miss brush one time a day.

It is a bit of a struggle for my 7 year old to brush her teeth, but I stay on her, because I had a Mom that did and it paid off with only 1 cavity my whole life. So, I want my daughter to know how important it is to take care of her teeth. She’ll thank me in 20 years! We brush at least twice a day and many times more after a snack.

I’m a twice a day brusher and recently had to switch to a Sonicare because I was brushing my teeth too hard and it really damaged my gums. I have to have a graft because of it, and I’m young!

Here’s to hoping that the Sonicare will prevent this from happening again!

Teeth brushing in our house is handled without a fight by keeping it a routine. First thing in the morning, after dinner and before bed. We just keep it regular and the kids do it by force of habit!

It is a struggle in our house to get the kids to brush their teeth twice a day. We just went to the dentist and luckily both of the old ones have great teeth and no cavities. I just went to Walmart and was looking at this toothbrush because of the $10 off coupon going around. This give away would be a huge help! My husband and I both use Sonicare Toothbrushes and love them. I’m sure my kids would love them just as much!

Getting my little girl to brush is a big chore, and getting her to do it right the first time is even more of a challenge! New brush heads to help get the job done would be a Blessing. I do love the fact that the sonic care brush has an automatic 2 minute timer which pauses at 30 second intervals which cues her to start on another area. Use this brush with a mouthful of listerine mouthwash (or something similar) to prevent/even turn back gingivitus/peridontal disease according to my dentist….that is quite a value in my estimation!

Morning first thing, then night just before bed. I brush in between if I’m home.

Well, right now it is just my fiance and I in the household. I am a complete hygiene freak. So I brush my teeth twice a day. My fiance on the other hand, would honestly go without brushing his teeth at night if I wasn’t there demanding that he do so! lol But he has a sonicare (an ancient version) so at least I know his teeth are getting a good cleaning when he actually does brush them. I still have a regular toothbrush and despite brushing really well, whenever I go to the dentist they tell me I have tartar buildup on the backs of my front teeth. If I had a sonicare I feel like I could clean those tricky to brush back of the teeth and have less tartar buildup!

Unfortunately I only brush my teeth once a day sometimes twice. :( And It is a struggle in our house to get the kids to brush their teeth twice a day.

    I am a 2x a day brusher. For my 2 year old, we only brush his once–before bed–b/c it’s such a battle!

I don’t like the Sonicare because the strong pulses hurt my mouth. I let my husband try it, and he absolutely loved it. We’re down to one backup brush head, so it’s time to start looking for a good deal on replacement heads.

As for our brushing habits… My son brushes without a fight at bedtime. I brush away my dragon-breath in the morning. I think my husband brushes morning and night. He’s a grown man, so I don’t pay too much attention to when he brushes his teeth… unless he’s eaten onions or peppers and wants to kiss me! :)

We’ve always struggled with my little one to brush her teeth. We literally have to hold her and brush and it’s so devistating for her. She’s only two and already has two cavities. It was heart breaking to see them put her to sleep for the procedure. I never want to go through this again, especially not now that she’s so little. Help! I want a toothbrush that would really help her teeth get really clean.

We use Sonicare brushes and love them! I always brush after breakfast and at night before I go to bad. I know I should brush right after meals, but I admit I’m lazy about it. My Sonicare keeps my teeth so clean that my dentist (who recommendedn it) believes I brush and floss 3 times a day…I’m not telling!!

We always brush our teeth twice a day in the morning at night. But sometimes we add in a brushing in the middle of the day!

My two year old loves her toothbrush but just sucks off the toothpaste and plays around with it. My 3 year old screams almost every time it’s time to brush teeth. My two older children brush twice a day but only with reminders. I would love for them to brush more but I forget to remind them.

My 3 year old often puts up a fight when it comes to brushing teeth. He is getting better, though! We only brush once a day, but hope to start doing twice a day!
