The most meaningful gift I’ve ever given is 3 replacement plates for my mother’s wedding china. It took me 10 months and 3 states, but I replaced the plates that had been broken in a cross-country move when I was a kid.
The look on my mother’s face is something I’ll never forget.

For my husband’s 30th birthday, I made him a digital scrapbook that he loved more than any other gift he has every receieved. It did have a few photos in it, but it was mostly letters of memories, well wishes, and other thoughts from people that are most important to him – family, friends, and old sports coaches. He loved it and I loved making it!

My best gift would be my family. God has really blessed me in that department. My spouse gave me a nice set up pearls and earrings on my wedding day becasue he said “My wife is not getting married in fake pearls”. He has also given me a white gold locket that was engraved with “my love” on it and I put pics of my twin daughters in that when they were born. My Mom passed down her Bible that she received when she was eight and I have since passed it on to my daughters who take turns taking it to church.

I gave my husband the VHS movie of “Two of a Kind”, which was the first movie we ever saw together (in the 5th grade). We saw that movie while our moms sat behind us on our first date. We reconnected later in life and when we saw each other for the first time as adults, I gave him the movie. Took me forever to find it on ebay and they don’t even make it on DVD. ha! :) We were married just a month later– when we were 30 years old. We met in second grade and rode the same bus to school. :)

For Valentine’s Day my husband made me a piece of heart art out of my favorite Nerds flavors – grapes and strawberry. It was so thoughtful and meant so much!

    Thanks for the opportunity!

We sent my son a baby my sister had made while we were waiting to bring him home – we had slept with it for weeks so it would smell like us and we would be familiar to him. It is still his favorite thing 2 1/2 yrs later.

I gave my grandma my waterford crystal cross necklace when hers was broken/taken when I was in my teens. I remember she was so touched and had tears in her eyes. When she died, my mom found the necklace and gave it back to me.

This year money has been a little tight so I’ve been forced to be creative. I found an amazing old picture of my father’s dog. My dad was devistated when his best friend died. I had the photo enlarged and mated and framed. I found a great quote and it turned out beautiful! Can’t wait to give it to him!

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
