Fortune cookies have a special meaning for my husband and me. I gave him a hinged silver-plated fortune cookie Christmas ornament with a custom fortune inside on our wedding day. So I instantly fell in love with these fortune cookie necklaces when I first saw them, and they’re just as precious in person.

Choose from seven preprinted “fortunes” or create your own message up to 28 characters. Amy even makes Itty Bitty Fortune Cookies that would be a perfect choice for a preteen.

Most meaningful gift was a blanket. My father in law who is a fire chief takes a nap everyday and he is cold when he sleeps on top of the covers, and hot when he sleeps under the covers. So I found a fire engine fleece material and made him a blanket. He used it everyday when he napped! He said it was PERFECT! He passed away November 20, 2009 and now my mother in law says it is now her perfect blanket.

The most meaningful gifts that I have given have been to each of my children and to each of my nieces and nephews when they were born. I cross stitched afghans for each of them.

For Christmas one year, I gave my husband a flight on an old-fashioned biplane (open cockpit…scarf, goggles, and hat included!). Our daughters were able to come with me to watch him as he took off and landed. They were amazed at how their daddy could fly! He was their superhero that day!

The most meaningful gift i have given was when I did a sub for santa when I was a teenager. We collected money from the kids at school so we could buy pajamas and games for a family we didn’t know.

The most meaningful gift I have ever given was to my grandmother one Christmas. My Papa had died several years before and she missed him terribly. My sister and I got her a painting of him. It was so beautiful and Papa looked so handsome in it. My grandmother died the next year but when they found her she was facing the picture. We really believe she was looking at it when she died.

My sisters and I flew in to El Paso to visit my parents after not seeing them for 6 months. May not seem long to others, but we had never been separated until their move down there. We flew in for Mom’s birthday and she cried.

The most meaningful gift I’ve given was to my in-laws on their 50th wedding anniversary. We wrote all their friends and asked them to send a memory and assembled them into two albums. It was great to read the memories and it’s something my in-laws can go back to again and again.

I bought my friend a suit to wear to a very important work function. He had no appropriate clothing to wear to it. There was a suit in his closet; when he tried it on the seams split! Later, he got a promotion. Not sure if it was because of the new suit, but he looked great in it! Thanks.

The most meaningful gift I’ve ever given is one that I’m giving this year. We have a farm that has been in our family for over 100 years. It’s extremely special to my father. One year ago, my grandfather was killed in an accident on the farm. It has nearly devastated my dad, but he loves that place more than anything. This year for Christmas, I had a blanket made (from SeeHere) with a beautiful picture of the farm on it. The colors are gorgeous and it will mean the world to my dad.

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
