Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday. I’ll be posting several 24-hour giveaways throughout the day to give you plenty of chances to win!
TurboTax is the #1-rated, best-selling tax software from Intuit Inc. In fact, last year more federal returns were e-filed with TurboTax than with all other consumer tax software combined. TurboTax walks users through their taxes step-by-step, with guidance designed to help users find every deduction and credit they deserve so that they get the maximum possible refund.
TurboTax 2009 makes tax preparation easier than ever with:
- Built-in guidance for more than 350 possible deductions and credits, including the 2009 Economic Stimulus
- Real-time error check immediately flags errors and missed information. Customers can fix mistakes as they go or come back later when they have their information in hand.
- A system for double checking deductions and credits. An estimated 5.6 million eligible taxpayers failed to claim the Earned Income Credit last year, potentially missing out on as much as $4,600.
- Instant answers from other TurboTax users and tax experts online via the TurboTax Live Community.
- The TurboTax Audit Risk Meter, which helps customers avoid common errors and reduce their risk of an audit before they file.
- Instant importing of investment and wage information. TurboTax customers can easily, accurately and securely import 1099 investment and W-2 wage information from more than 140 financial institutions and payroll providers directly into their tax return.

My father-in-laws helps us do them ourselves. I could easily do it myself, but it gives them an excuse to come out & visit (I’d still like to do them myself!) :)

My husband and I were using a CPA to do our taxes. Now that I am separated and the divorce is going to be final this year, I need to find a way to get my taxes done cheaper. I have started working on my 2009 taxes.

I always e-file and have my refund direct deposited. Much quicker that way. Unfortunately last year I had moved to a new state and therefore they wouldn’t let me e-file. First time I had ever gotten a paper check refund (I’m showing my youth here….). I have used turbo tax’s tax freedom preparation for low income (www.taxfreedom.com) for many years and it’s a great service. I will stick with them even when I’m over the income limits!

We usually file our taxes ourselves with the help of a website…I cannot recall its name right now (11 weeks pregnant – ack!) . This year my husband and I will be filing self employment taxes for 2009, so this would work out so well! We have at least 10 lbs. of receipts to wade through. :)
Annette Hobart
I have not started our taxes yet, as we are still waiting for some charity receipts. We have used Turbo Tax online for the last 4 or 5 years. :-)
Rachel Manley
We usually do our taxes on our own using the website TaxSlayer. We are still waiting on a W2, but usually get our taxes done as soon as possible!
