Win-It Wednesday: Shelf Reliance Cansolidator Pantry (4 Winners!)

June 2, 2010 by Tara Kuczykowski

Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday. I’ll be posting 24-hour giveaways at 8 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. ET to give you plenty of chances to win!

One of the most common questions I get about stockpiling is, “How do you manage your stockpile?” Frankly, this is something I still struggle with. My kitchen pantry is relatively small — certainly not large enough to house a stockpile that will sustain a family of seven. We have additional shelving, as well as an extra refrigerator and deep freezer in the garage, but I’ll admit that it’s difficult at best to keep tabs on everything.

So when Tiffany from Shelf Reliance asked if I’d be interested in trying one of their Cansolidator Pantry shelf units I jumped at the chance. Not only does it save space, but it also automatically rotates your stockpile, ensuring that products are used in the order of expiration. Furthermore, it alleviates the sometimes dangerous practice of stacking cans on top of each other. Have I ever told you about the time my husband dropped a can of peas on my bare pinky toe? Well, let’s just say it was not a pretty sight…

Now I just need to pick up a few more Cansolidator units to finish organizing. Luckily Tiffany has a great deal for us:

This week only, Tiffany is offering Deal Seeking Mom readers an exclusive 52% discount on the Cansolidator Pantry. Enter coupon code Save1 at checkout, which will bring the price per unit down to $21.49!

Four lucky Deal Seeking Mom readers will each win a Shelf Reliance Cansolidator Pantry that holds up to 40 cans!

To enter, tell me what is the hardest part about keeping your pantry clean. Do you struggle with stacking cans, or do you have issues with bags and boxes?

The fact that I don’t have an actual pantry, per se, so I have to designate kitchen cabinets and, being short, all of my food is over my head so I can only see what is shoved in the front.

My cans have taken over so much of my pantry that most of my other stockpiled groceries are on a separate shelving unit. I would love to have more space in my pantry for some of the other bulkier stuff and put the cans somewhere else!

I can stuff alot in one space but then it is hard to find it all. Because some things are in front of others. So, only I know where everything is.

The hardest thing for me is organizing it so I can see everything and not have things get buried in the back!

hardest is organizing due to lack of space. 1 bedroom apt. with 2 tiny closets-3 shelves each that hold all dried foods and kitchen gadgets. things are stacked and piled, constatnaly rearanging to get at the cans I need for that day

What’s hardest for me, is it seems like we’re eager to open something, but never seem to finish it. Every other month, I wind up pitching the last bit of potato chips, last few cookies, etc. So much for getting deals when we waste some of the product. :(

The hardest part for me is finding what I have. I have boxes and cans stacked all over that just get shoved in however they’ll fit when I buy them.

My laundry room does double duty as my pantry. I am always looking for ways to consolidate cans in the least amount of space. My biggest challenge in the pantry in ensuring that cans are used before the expiration date which is sometimes missed in the stacking!

The hardest part for me is knowing what I have. Sometimes I will look and look for something that I know I have only to find it a couple days later.

Hardest part about keeping my pantry clean is that I keep adding to it and then I get lazy and just put things wherever there is room instead of organizing. I’ve seen these before and think they are a great idea! Thanks for the giveaway!

The hardest part for me is knowing what I have. My pantry is tiny and everything is so disorganized and gets lost.

I converted a small walk in closet into a pantry and would love to try the consolidator. Probably one of my biggest challenges in keeping the pantry clean is my young grandkids– the love going in their hunting for goodies:)

The hardest / most frustrating part is finding an item “you know” you have. You have to remove everything to find the one can of fire roasted tomatoes you know you have in there somewhere…..of course, it’s always in the very back and you have pulled out your entire cupboard for one can of tomatoes…..

I have an unorganized mess and out dated cans that got shoved to the back. My grown kids tell me all the time to not die because they wouldn’t know where to start to get things organized.
