Win-It Wednesday: Shelf Reliance Cansolidator Pantry (4 Winners!)

June 2, 2010 by Tara Kuczykowski

Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday. I’ll be posting 24-hour giveaways at 8 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. ET to give you plenty of chances to win!

One of the most common questions I get about stockpiling is, “How do you manage your stockpile?” Frankly, this is something I still struggle with. My kitchen pantry is relatively small — certainly not large enough to house a stockpile that will sustain a family of seven. We have additional shelving, as well as an extra refrigerator and deep freezer in the garage, but I’ll admit that it’s difficult at best to keep tabs on everything.

So when Tiffany from Shelf Reliance asked if I’d be interested in trying one of their Cansolidator Pantry shelf units I jumped at the chance. Not only does it save space, but it also automatically rotates your stockpile, ensuring that products are used in the order of expiration. Furthermore, it alleviates the sometimes dangerous practice of stacking cans on top of each other. Have I ever told you about the time my husband dropped a can of peas on my bare pinky toe? Well, let’s just say it was not a pretty sight…

Now I just need to pick up a few more Cansolidator units to finish organizing. Luckily Tiffany has a great deal for us:

This week only, Tiffany is offering Deal Seeking Mom readers an exclusive 52% discount on the Cansolidator Pantry. Enter coupon code Save1 at checkout, which will bring the price per unit down to $21.49!

Four lucky Deal Seeking Mom readers will each win a Shelf Reliance Cansolidator Pantry that holds up to 40 cans!

To enter, tell me what is the hardest part about keeping your pantry clean. Do you struggle with stacking cans, or do you have issues with bags and boxes?

I don’t have trouble organizing the cans and boxes. It’s more the bags and random size/shape items that make my pantry a mess!

So many cans of different shapes and sizes make it hard to stack, having a small apartment doesn’t help matters either >80(

Ok, I am tired of using all of those cardboard flats from the store. I have such a difficult time having the space for all of the cans, it’s a nightmare! Please Cansolidator, Take Me Away!

The hardest part is remembering what stockpile I have so I don’t buy double (or triple or more!)

I too have only a small area to store all the good buys I continue to get at the store ! This would be wonderful :)

I have trouble keeping my pantry clean because I don’t cycle through the food very well. When I make a recipe, I buy the products and use my fresh cans, instead of older cans buried in my pantry. I need one of these can rotaters!

One of my difficulties is that I don’t rotate my cans like I should — I mean, when I go shopping, the new cans generally go in front of the old ones. Periodically I try to go through and put the cans in the correct order (those expiring sooner at the front), but I have also found that just because I purchase the cans more recently does NOT mean that they expire later.

The hardest part for me is actually the cans. I have short spaces but they are deep and so everything ends up getting pushed way back to the back and then I have to take the time out to pull everything out and put the older dated stuff up front.

My cabinets are very cluttered, and the cans do not stack well.

My biggest challenge is that my cabinet shelves are a weird height. There’s not quite enough room to stack most cans two-high. And cereal? No way is that fitting :)

Our pantry is so small we have some shelves set up in the basement. It is so hard to keep hose organized though, keeping everything rotated with later expirations in the back…. I just always seem to run out of room. These would be so helpful!

I struggle with bags. The boxes I can handle but anything in bags just stresses me out. I also seem to misplace my cans. I put them on different shelves! Argh, I don’t know why I do that to myself. This would be awesome to keep me organized and sane :)

never seeing what’s stacked behind the stuff in front

The hardest part of keeping my pantry clean is finding a way to make the most of the space. It’s hard to stack things, or get to things that are behind others. I’ll organize it, & then when I need to use a couple of things, it gets cluttered again.

An easier question would be what is the easiest about my pantry! My pantry is small, so organizing anything is alot of work! I have trouble with finding room for everything, then trying to stack things together, which means you will never find it easily later…. the bags are another story all together. they are everywhere!
