Win-It Wednesday: Shelf Reliance Cansolidator Pantry (4 Winners!)

June 2, 2010 by Tara Kuczykowski

Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday. I’ll be posting 24-hour giveaways at 8 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. ET to give you plenty of chances to win!

One of the most common questions I get about stockpiling is, “How do you manage your stockpile?” Frankly, this is something I still struggle with. My kitchen pantry is relatively small — certainly not large enough to house a stockpile that will sustain a family of seven. We have additional shelving, as well as an extra refrigerator and deep freezer in the garage, but I’ll admit that it’s difficult at best to keep tabs on everything.

So when Tiffany from Shelf Reliance asked if I’d be interested in trying one of their Cansolidator Pantry shelf units I jumped at the chance. Not only does it save space, but it also automatically rotates your stockpile, ensuring that products are used in the order of expiration. Furthermore, it alleviates the sometimes dangerous practice of stacking cans on top of each other. Have I ever told you about the time my husband dropped a can of peas on my bare pinky toe? Well, let’s just say it was not a pretty sight…

Now I just need to pick up a few more Cansolidator units to finish organizing. Luckily Tiffany has a great deal for us:

This week only, Tiffany is offering Deal Seeking Mom readers an exclusive 52% discount on the Cansolidator Pantry. Enter coupon code Save1 at checkout, which will bring the price per unit down to $21.49!

Four lucky Deal Seeking Mom readers will each win a Shelf Reliance Cansolidator Pantry that holds up to 40 cans!

To enter, tell me what is the hardest part about keeping your pantry clean. Do you struggle with stacking cans, or do you have issues with bags and boxes?

When I buy new items, the old ones get pushed to the back. Then I never know what I have and don’t have!

I find that the biggest struggle in my pantry is the cans. I try to keep them sacked two high, any more than that thy always tip. I usually keep fatter cans, like some soups as the base and stack the narrower cans, like veggies, as the top layer. These look like a great way to organize a pantry!

The biggest problem with food storage for me is that I have it in cupboards/closets spread throughout the house since I have no pantry. I’d love to consolidate my stockpile and the Cansolidator would really help!

We are a six person household living in a 3 bedroom singlewide. My laundry room is my pantry, my closet, and our laundry room. While I have a shed we do not have electricity in it so my spare fridge is in my kitchen(no dining room either) as well as a shelf in our back entry way. Keeping ththings organized is definitely a challenge when dealing with small spaces and a goodly number of people to provide for.

We call the stacking can problems the “can – a – lanche” When one comes down they all come down.

Cabinets are too tall to stack cans and reach them – so now there’s a ton of wasted space.

My biggest problem is keeping it organized to know what is in it, and also keeping the kids from adding all of their stuff in the pantry too, just to put it somewhere.

The hardest part about keeping my pantry clean is when not everyone puts things away where they go. Like the kids!

Our pantry is so small and its dark, especially further back on the shelves, so it makes it hard to see and keep organized. We tried installing one of those press one lights on the wall, but it was useless.

I am a perfectionst and I never feel like my pantry is ‘organized’ enough, so I guess that’s my pantry ‘flaw’!
