March 10, 2010 by Tara Kuczykowski

Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday. I’ll be posting several 24-hour giveaways throughout the day to give you plenty of chances to win!

pediped Footwear is one of the fastest growing children’s footwear brands in the United States. Launched in 2004, pediped carries three lines of child-friendly shoes. Their Originals are soft-soled shoes for children age 0-24 months. Their Flex line are flexible, rubber-soled shoes for children age 1-6 years. Finally, the Couture line features head-turning styles for your little princess. The new pediped Spring/Summer Collection introduces 60 new styles to the market.

Three lucky Deal Seeking Mom readers will each win one pair of pediped Originals for a boy or girl in the size of your choice. Style will be selected by the company from the new Spring/Summer 2010 Collection.

I look at the inside of the shoes, just to make sure they aren’t going to be scratchy, or shaped funny inside. I love little shoes, its a thing for me.

When I shop for my toddler’s shoes I look for support and durability. Just because some shoes are cute doesn’t mean they are getting the support they need.

I have a good friend from Germany who told me many years ago that children need good beds and good shoes, and not so many toys. This made so much sense to me, so I only buy good quality shoes for my children and discard any that are uncomfortable. This is one area where I am not looking for frugality.

I look for quality, and comfort for their growing little feet.

I think the material is the most important thing. Some shoes which are less expensive are made out of hard, rigid, man made fabric/leather that has no flexibility. In order for the shoe to be comfortable it needs to move with the foot, otherwise it will cause pain for the little one. The best kids shoes are the ones that your child doesn’t even know he or she is wearing :)

Has to flexible for their feet, but cute helps also!

I look for a soft soled shoe to help my baby learn how to walk.

Fit. DS1 has Frodo feet, so the first shoe-eliminating factor is whether or not they will even fit on his feet! I was thrilled to find that Pediped Originals worked for his chubby feet when he started walking. He’s now 2 and requires XW shoes. DS2 looks like he’s following in his brother’s chubby-footsteps too! :)

With two boys durability is a must when buying shoes, but of course style and comfort are factors too.

I don’t have kids of my own, so I don’t know what I would look for in infant or toddler shoes. But I’m hoping to win a pair for a friend of mine!

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
