Win-It Wednesday: Marcal Paper Products Package (4 Winners)!

February 17, 2010 by Tara Kuczykowski

Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday. I’ll be posting several 24-hour giveaways throughout the day to give you plenty of chances to win!

Maybe you’re not ready to go full on green and use cloth for napkins, paper towels, or *gasp* even TP, but Marcal has a decent compromise with their Small Steps line of products. Marcal Small Steps are produced from recycled paper so they’re gentle on the environment while still being easy on the wallet.

We’ve been giving many of the Marcal Small Steps products a test drive around our house, and while they may be slightly less soft than their traditional counterparts, I’d say the environmental impact outweighs any slight difference in quality. If you want to give Marcal a try for yourself, there was a FREE Marcal Paper Products coupon in the 1/31 Smartsource insert!

Marcal Paper is dedicated to providing paper products to consumers like you that you can feel good about purchasing. As an “Earth-Friendly Paper Goods Company,” they believe products should work well, be good for the environment and be affordable. All of their products are made from recycled paper.

Four Deal Seeking Mom readers will win a Marcal Paper Products Package including:

  • Dinner Napkins
  • Napkin Drawstring Bag (180 ct.)
  • Upright Facial Tissues (80 ct.)
  • Facial Tissues (144 ct.)
  • Single Roll Giant Towel
  • 4 Rolls Bath Tissue 2-ply
  • 4 Rolls Bath Tissue 1-ply (1000 ct.)
  • Regular Towels (3 rolls)

To enter, tell me if there’s anything you do to cut down on paper waste in your home.

I don’t use toilet paper after defecation but wash instead because it is more hygienic and prevents unnecessary waste of toilet paper. This is one way to cut down on paper waste in your home.

To cut down on paper usage, we always print on both sides of the paper and we use 6inx6in cotton cloths instead of paper towels.

Reuse, reuse, reuse reuse…… Just last week my husband was teasing me about the number of uses I got from a pizza box. I took the pizza box and used it as a craft project for my son. Later we were ready to toss the project so I cut up the cardboard and covered it with wrapping paper to make a decorative backing for my husbands birthday cake. The next week I needed a bottom to a diaper cake I made as a shower gift so I cut it into a circle to place on the bottom to help me hold it all together. I just hope my friends daughter placed it in the recycle bin when she can’t find any more uses for my beloved piece of cardboard. 8^)

We use cloth napkins, a dish cloth specially saved for spills in the kitchen, print on both sides of our paper as often as possible.

I simply use less toilet paper… it may seem silly but when I go to the bathroom I remember all the people around the world who do not have the privilege of using toilet paper.

    We are so blessed!

    Thanks!

We use dishtowls instead of papertowls when ever possible. Also I will turn printed coupons around and run them back through the printer if it can. Another way I recycle is I save the comics from the newspaper and use as wrapping paper and the regular pages from the newspaper I save for craft projects or painting.

We turn everything into scrap paper for making notes on – all the little leftover bits of paper after you cut out your coupons, old envelopes, everything. We are swimming in extra paper!

We use cloth towels for wiping down counters and cleaning up spills. It’s amazing how many paper towels we’ve saved with just that one adjustment alone!

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
