Win-It Wednesday: Marcal Paper Products Package (4 Winners)!

February 17, 2010 by Tara Kuczykowski

Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday. I’ll be posting several 24-hour giveaways throughout the day to give you plenty of chances to win!

Maybe you’re not ready to go full on green and use cloth for napkins, paper towels, or *gasp* even TP, but Marcal has a decent compromise with their Small Steps line of products. Marcal Small Steps are produced from recycled paper so they’re gentle on the environment while still being easy on the wallet.

We’ve been giving many of the Marcal Small Steps products a test drive around our house, and while they may be slightly less soft than their traditional counterparts, I’d say the environmental impact outweighs any slight difference in quality. If you want to give Marcal a try for yourself, there was a FREE Marcal Paper Products coupon in the 1/31 Smartsource insert!

Marcal Paper is dedicated to providing paper products to consumers like you that you can feel good about purchasing. As an “Earth-Friendly Paper Goods Company,” they believe products should work well, be good for the environment and be affordable. All of their products are made from recycled paper.

Four Deal Seeking Mom readers will win a Marcal Paper Products Package including:

  • Dinner Napkins
  • Napkin Drawstring Bag (180 ct.)
  • Upright Facial Tissues (80 ct.)
  • Facial Tissues (144 ct.)
  • Single Roll Giant Towel
  • 4 Rolls Bath Tissue 2-ply
  • 4 Rolls Bath Tissue 1-ply (1000 ct.)
  • Regular Towels (3 rolls)

To enter, tell me if there’s anything you do to cut down on paper waste in your home.

We recycle everything that we can…including our coupon scraps!! For our Christmas present from my parents, we asked for dishes. We found Corelle in a 6 place setting (3 piece-dinner plate, bowl, and small plate) for $30. we bought 3 sets. With 18 place settings, we ae never tempted to use paper plates for a meal because we have so many regular plates. In the long run, we’ll save a bit of money too!

I try to reduce paper waste by using envelopes that come in the mail as scratch paper. We also use cloth napkins whenever I can remember.

I subscribe to your blog via email newsletter.

I save paper from coupon printing and give it to my library:
when I print out internet coupons, I sometimes have left over sections of paper.
At my library, each PC terminal has a little tray of white scrap paper and little pencils, so that library users can write down a small note for book info, etc.
I take my scraps of paper, and cut them into small rectangles of abour 2 1/2 inches by 4 inches – and put these scraps into the trays at my library.

I use the envelopes that junk mail come in to take my coupons to the grocery store, etc. That way they won’t be wasted before they are worn down.

We use cloth napkins here and the majority of the time use rags for cleaning. For printing my coupons, I use the back of my sons’ papers from school. And we recycle.

I reuse paper printed out by my husband’s office to print out my coupons. I simply flip the sheets over and use the back of the sheets.

The only paper used in my household really is paper towels, tissue, and toilet paper…

I rarely print but when I do, I use recycled paper and ALWAYS print on both sides.

  24. Emily

    February 17, 2010 at 11:42 pm

We reuse napkins that aren’t really dirty. We also reuse the back of printed paper for a variety of things. Also when using a paper towel for a clean up job…if it isn’t ready to be thrown out, I decide to clean something else to get the full use out of it.

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
