I loved to play school with my sister. I was always the teacher. Of course, now I actually am a teacher!

My brothers and I had no actual toys growing up, so we had to come up with imaginative things to do. Not saying this was a bad decision on my parents’ part. I am actually thankful for it,and, of course having food was way more important. Anyway, our favorite game was a simple one we called ‘bing -butt.’ We would stuff a shirt or sweater in our pants/skirt for extra padding, and then we would sit down at the top of our staircase and slowly inch to the end of the first step. Then we would have a race between two of us at a time. When our bottom left the edge of a step, we would say bing, when it landed on the next, we would say butt. It sounded hilarious to the other siblings watching and the faster you could go the better. No, none of us have any back problems.

My favorite game was building a “hide out” in the woods. We lived on 27 acres and played outdoors ALL of the time. My sister and I would play for hours in our own little world we created. =)

I grew up with two sisters. We loved playing “house” together, but our favorite was playing “school”- one girl would be the teacher and make simple assignments for the two students. We made little desks and everything for our game!
