Friday night is pizza night around here. Some weeks it’s takeout, sometimes homemade, and sometimes frozen, but no matter how it arrives at the table, pizza night is a weekly Kuczykowski family ritual that we all look forward to.

Last week I served new Freschetta FlatBread pizzas as our entree. Freschetta was kind enough to send our family an awesome pizza kit which included free coupons to sample Freschetta pizza, along with a pizza stone, pizza cutter, and an oven mitt to make our kitchen feel like a real Italian pizzeria. I’ve been coveting a pizza stone for some time now, so I was especially excited to prepare our FlatBread pizza with it.

Our pizza tastes run from simple to more exotic, as can be expected in a large family, so we decided to taste test the 5-Cheese, Pepperoni, and Roasted Garlic & Spinach varieties. Of course the cheese got the thumbs up from the kids, pepperoni appealed to my husband, and I especially loved the garlic. But one thing we all agreed upon is that the thin and crispy flatbread crust was what really makes this pizza special.

    We have different pizzas. Some like plain cheese, some pepperoni and some, like me, add mushrooms. We all sit at our table, talk, laugh, tease and later at night watch a movie together to wind down.

    I usually make pizza from scratch. The kids love watching me toss the dough and getting to top their own. It’s the only benefit from working at a pizza place for two years…

    Every Friday night is pizza night at our house. I usually buy cheese pizzas from the store and doctor them up to fit everyone’s tastes. Lately we have been combining pizza night and movie night so we spread out a blanket on the floor and eat pizza and dessert and watch a movie.

    my hubby would only eat pizza and would be happy. he loves pepperoni and i’m crazy about cheese so we usually order 2 different pizzas and really enjoy them – no movie, just talking. yummy!

    Pizza night consists of the pizza of course, movie and popcorn. Sometimes we opt for a game instead of movies but whichever we choose it is a fun family night.

    We eat pizza in the backyard while the kids play or are in the pool in the yard.

    We usually do homemade, unless I find an amazing deal on frozen pizza. Its fn to make our own because I can make half how I like it (spinach, garlic, tomatoes, green peppers, mushrooms – yes, I love veggies on my pizza!), and hubby can make his half to his liking – generally including meat :)

    Pizza night at our house is usually on Monday evenings. I work until 7pm so it’s up to my husband to pick up our son from daycare. It used to be that he’d take care of cooking dinner that night, but then it started that they would stop by my office to visit me. So we started making this our pizza night. Many times we make it extra special by having a picnic and snuggle time either in the family room or sometimes in our bedroom. Either way we try to make our shortened family time for the evening special.

    We also make homemade pizza. Our 2 yr. old has now joined the ranks of those in our household who understand and can play UNO, so that is our usual pleasure on pizza night.
