Fashion Playtes is a cool new site that lets girls aged 6-12 years design their own clothes. Can you imagine the feeling at that age of wearing something you designed yourself? The easy-to-use online platform allows kids to add accessories like ribbons, graphics and ruffles to their clothing items. There is even an option to make a personalized label that will let everyone know who designed it!

    I am not that interested in designing clothes but my 9 (almost 10) year old step-daughter wants to be a fashion designer when she grows up. This year for her birthday we plan on getting her items to design her own clothes and barbie clothes and I would love to give her this.

    I’ve never really wanted to design clothes. My my six-year-old daugher has all ready started making designs for her younger sister. One desin was made out of tape on one of the kitchen cabinets . . . needless to say, it sayed up for a month or so. We’d really love to with this.

    I spent much time as a child drawing fashion designs and now my oldest seems to be doing the same. Nine is a great age!

    My mom was a great seamstress, so I’d design and she’d create all of my formal dresses. Too bad I didn’t learn the art of sewing!! My daughters don’t have that luxury!

    Has the thought crossed my mind? Yes, but I really do not think I would be much good at it. It is all I can do to get myself and my children in something that matches in the morning!

    I get t-shirts and fabric paint at Michael’s (on sale, of course) and then design shirts for my kids, relatives and friends. I’ve made big sister t-shirts, Halloween t-shirts, and a “1” t-shirt when my youngest turned 1. It’s a lot of fun!

    I used to use the fashion plates that you would mix and match and then rub your pencil over as a little girl. Now my own 9 yr. old draws her own designs. She would love this for her 10th birthday. She is way more talented than I ever was.

    I have never really been interested in designing my own clothes. I checked out the site though and it looks super fun.

    I used to design my own doll clothes when I was growing up. I would take my grandma’s fabric remnants and make Barbie some new clothes:)
