My three-year-old daughter has been asking to see the “Chicken Mucks” movie since she first saw the trailers several months ago. I have fond memories of watching the Alvin and the Chipmunks cartoon on Saturday mornings when I was little, and of course I loved the Chipettes, so we were both thrilled when the Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel arrived on our doorstep last week.

The look on her face was priceless when I handed her the double DVD pack, and she insisted on watching it right away. Since my older boys were on Spring Break, we decided to hold a mid-day family movie session, and we had a blast. We’re getting to the stage in our family where it’s hard to find movies that will appeal to me and my husband, while still appealing to all of the kids, and this movie totally fits the bill.

Sure Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel can be a bit corny at times, but it has some great teachable moments, and the music will have you singing along — which coincidentally you’ll be able to do all. the. time. with “The Squeak Along” bonus disc. Ask me how I know, LOL.

    I have always loved Alvin and Chipmunks (or chick-a-munks as my children have always called them!). So glad that they came back around for this new generation to enjoy!

    Our family loved the chipmunks. Our daughters when they were younger would sing the songs so much it almost drove us crazy! LOL We purchased the movie as well as the cd, which is why they sang the songs all the time! I would really love to win this dvd for my grandson so he can drive my daughter crazy! LOL Keeping my fingers crossed.

    My husband and daughter LOVE Alvin and the CHIPMUNKS. In fact, they had their picture taken at the movie theater alongside the display of the Chipmunks this past Christmas season!

    Always hear their song during Christmas. I’m guessing my kids are getting to that age where I should introduce them to the characters on tv.

    Not only did I watch as a child, but I have an original small 33 rpm record of Alvin and the Chipmunks, the first ‘album’ they made. It includes all of their signature songs as well as some others. My 3 year old granddaughter asks to play it as soon as she hits my door! Its her favorite and none of her friends understand what a record is! She took it and a player to preschool with her for show and tell and she was the hit of the day. Everyone wanted to be her new BFF!!!! This shows how great things can cross generations, as her daddy grew up with them as well.

    YesI I loved to watch the Chipmunks as a kid. Of course when I shared this with my children their response was, “The Chipmunks were around when YOU were a little girl mommy??? Wow! How old are they??” Kids! Gotta love ’em!
