I’ve never been a fan of scented trash bags. The scent is always so floral and overpowering, and I always feel like it rubs off on me when I’m changing a bag.

So I was very interested to learn about Hefty’s new Unscented Odor Block Technology. These trash bags help neutralize garbage odors with no added scent. I was a little skeptical as to whether it would actually reduce garbage odor, but it really does work. Even though we frequently change bags, in the past I’ve noticed that after a few trash bag changes, my trash can would start to smell less than ideal, so I’d either have to get out the Lysol or take it outside and rinse it with Clorox.

    I look for a trash bag that is not going to rip when I am pulling it out of the trash can or to the trash can out side. I also love the drawstrings.

    I look for trash bags that are tall and have flaps at the top. I don’t like the drawstrings at all…they are more expensive and because my bags always get so heavy, they seem to snap.

    Hefty is always a brand I trust, not to expensive and still does the job wonderfully. I use the regular no drawstring, no odor blocker, no extra duty and it still holds up to the job.

    My trashbags absolutely have to be flexible and leak-proof! Especially in the kitchen. The last thing I want is last night’s leftover sauce leaving a trail from the kitchen through the garage when we take out the trash.
