Win-It Wednesday: $50 Target Gift Card from Hefty (2 Winners!)

September 29, 2010 by Tara Kuczykowski

Join me every week for Win-It Wednesday. I’ll be posting 24-hour giveaways at 8 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. ET to give you plenty of chances to win!

I’ve never been a fan of scented trash bags. The scent is always so floral and overpowering, and I always feel like it rubs off on me when I’m changing a bag.

So I was very interested to learn about Hefty’s new Unscented Odor Block Technology. These trash bags help neutralize garbage odors with no added scent. I was a little skeptical as to whether it would actually reduce garbage odor, but it really does work. Even though we frequently change bags, in the past I’ve noticed that after a few trash bag changes, my trash can would start to smell less than ideal, so I’d either have to get out the Lysol or take it outside and rinse it with Clorox.

I haven’t had to do that since I started using the Hefty Trash Bags with Unscented Odor Block Technology! I’ve several good sales on these lately, so it’s nice to know we don’t have to sacrifice price for this great product, especially since there’s a $1 off coupon available right now.

Join Hefty’s Facebook community and you’ll get a $1/1 Hefty Waste Bag printable to use on your next purchase.

Two lucky Deal Seeking Mom readers will each win a $50 Target gift card courtesy of Hefty Trash Bags.

To enter, tell me what you look for in a garbage bag. Do you like the flexible kind that stretches as you fill it up or pull it out of the can, or maybe the drawstrings are the most important part for you?

+++++++++++++++

I look for the heavier duty bags. There’s nothing worse than a bag dripping all over the floor when I take it out.

I love bags that stretch a bit and don’t easily rip. I hate it when the bag falls into the trash bin and you have to clean the trash bin!

Q: What features do you look for when purchasing garbage bags for household use?

A: I look for strong bags with stretch to fit in the garbage can perfectly & doesnt rip & tear when it is lifted out of the garbage can when full.

The bags must fit over my trash can top without pulling a hole in them. Not many can do this but the Hefty ones work!

I want a bag that is strong. When I pull it out of the can it had better hold.

  18. cheryl

    September 29, 2010 at 9:59 pm

I like them to be thick; at least .9mil— & yes I’m dorky enough to pay attention to the thickness. Also I use a big trash can that requires a 30gal bag which can be expensive.

  20. ANDREA

I LOVE drawstrings!!! I hate trying to tie bags by gripping the sides, usually ending up with last nights dinner on my hands!!

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
