I’ve never been a fan of scented trash bags. The scent is always so floral and overpowering, and I always feel like it rubs off on me when I’m changing a bag.

So I was very interested to learn about Hefty’s new Unscented Odor Block Technology. These trash bags help neutralize garbage odors with no added scent. I was a little skeptical as to whether it would actually reduce garbage odor, but it really does work. Even though we frequently change bags, in the past I’ve noticed that after a few trash bag changes, my trash can would start to smell less than ideal, so I’d either have to get out the Lysol or take it outside and rinse it with Clorox.

    I prefer bags that have some stretch, but are also made thicker and sturdier. Add odor protection to that and you’ve got an awesome trash bag! :)

    Hi Terri: Great contest…I have been a lurker for a while. This is the first time I have contributed. You do a great job.
    First of all I love Hefty trash bags (or an name brand trash bag). I find that for trash bags buying the name brand makes a difference. I love the ones that you can stretch over the top of the 13 gal trash barrel so that it doesn’t fall into the barrel. I also love lemon scent and I will be looking for the scent blocker version that you mentioned. (I do not like floral…just doesn’t seem to go with trash.) I also like a really strong bag that does not break when over-loaded. That’s it. Thanks again for your blog…it has been a help.
