My husband is a hoppy photographer so he goes through batteries like crazy. We try to buy rechargable batteries whenever we can find them on sale.

In order to get the name brand batteries, we watch for sales and pair with coupons. Otherwise we just buy the cheapo store brand batteries. But for high use items, such as our Xbox controllers, we purchased rechargeable battery packs, which has certainly saved us hundreds already. And yes I’ve had batteries run out at important moments! I sell on eBay, and often times the camera batteries will going during a “photo shoot.” Rather than running out to the store, I usually play the flip a battery game or steal one from a remote to finish off the shoot!

We stocked up on batteries at Target during the xmas clearance sale. Cell phone dies whenever you need to make an important call…always happens that way!

never had batteries die at a very important moment – except when my 4 year old son’s video game stopped working in the middle of a 12 hour traveling trip when he was sick and that was the only thing keeping him from griping the whole time…
that was sad but not too important…

I save money buy using rechargeable batteries but I have had batteries die during important times and not had back up readily available. I hate it when that happens!

I buy batteries in all sizes when they go on sale. I hate when they die in the middle of our Wii games.

My camera died once during my son’s Christmas play – he was a wiseman and I was using my flip camera to record him – it started beeping and so I just waited for his BIG role and didn’t record the whole play. I was so disappointed!! I just try to use coupons on batteries whenever they’re out…I’ve never tried rechargeable, but I’m thinking maybe that’s the way to go!!

I use batteries that are too run down to work in high load devices in low load/lesser important devices. To the AAs that won’t power my camera or lights anymore go into the clocks on the wall or the television remotes.

I take advantage of the $1.00 Rayovac coupons to buy batteries whenever they are at the $1.00 spot in Target!

I save money on batteries by using coupons and buying Rayovac! Which really do last as long as Energizer.
The worst moment my batteries died in my digital camera were immediately following my daughter’s birth. What a bummer not to be able to take pictures!

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
