If I know I am not going to use something for awhile (portable tape recorder, for example), I remove the batteries and store them in the freezer. Even when just sitting in a device, turned off, the batteries getting slowly drained.
Thanks for having the giveaway.

The camera we have you have to leave the power on or lose the pictures, with this we’d always have fresh batteries and no lost family pictures.

Don’t know if this will work for everyone , but I have a cordless mouse at my computer, and when the batteries will no longer power the mouse, I can put them into my portable radio and the radio still works with the same battries. By the time I toss them they are really dead!
