Has to be the good old pot luck party. Its fun to taste everyones different foods and it causes less stress on the hostess which is the best reason and you can sit and enjoy the game.

I stock up on party items at yard sales and also frequent Dollar Stores. I buy in bulk items like hot dogs, chips, and biscuit dough (to cut in pieces and wrap around hot dog pieces); things that can be reassembled into various snacks. I get my drinks and anything else I need at Wal Mart. :)

I shop of al of my paper goods at the Dollar Tree and if people ask if they can bring something I always let them. It helps out plus gives you a great varity of snacks.

I make my party favors from scratch instead of buying them from the store. You can buy in bulk and save the rest for after the game.

I’m a big dollar store shopper and stock up on sale items when I find them in the other stores. Make a list before hand and stick to it when party planning so you don’t blow your money on impulse buys.

I watch for supplies to go on sale after holidays and keep them for the next year. I also try to do the “main” staples for the party (watching and using coupons, freezing if necessary ahead of time) and ask guests to bring the extras…like a couple of different desserts, a couple of different chips, etc. Then if one couple doesn’t show up, there is still at least one of each item.
