Who Wants to Win a Flip Digital Video Camera?

August 29, 2008 by Tara Kuczykowski

Hopefully you’ve had a chance to check out my first-ever vlog attempt on frugal baby and toddler feeding, so you’ve seen the Flip in action! The quality of the video far exceeded my expectations, and it is SO simple to use.

I was really kind of nervous about doing a video. “You, uh, want me to do what? Put myself on display in a series of videos in front of all my readers? Um . . . okay.” But I had a great time learning how to use my Flip and playing around with Windows Movie Maker. Now that I’ve got one done and relaxed a little, I’m really looking forward to my next vlog!

So how would you like to have one of these fabulous little gadgets for your very own? Courtesy of Walmart and Pure Digital, I have one Flip Digital Video Camera in my hot little hands for one lucky reader to win! You could even use it to win a year’s worth of groceries by submitting your best money-saving tips on video to the Walmart channel on YouTube. I would be SO thrilled if one of my readers won the groceries!!!

Every reader has three methods available to enter this contest. Choose any combination of one, two, or three, for up to a total of 3 entries!!!

1. Leave a comment telling me the best money-saving method or tip that you’ve actually used recently. Make sure that I have some way to get in touch with you if you are the winner. (Either leave your email address in your comment or make sure I can access it from your profile.) Don’t worry, I won’t harvest your email addresses or use them for any purpose other than notifying you if you win.

2. Subscribe to my feed via RSS or email and leave a separate comment letting me know you have done so. If you’re already a subscriber, simply leave a separate comment letting me know you’re already subscribed. Lovin’ my subscribers! You guys make this all possible.

3. Spread the word about this contest in some manner and come back and leave a link in a separate comment. If you have a blog, you can blog about it. But if you don’t have a blog, you’re not at a disadvantage. You could review and Stumble it. You could Twitter it. You could post about it in a forum. Use your imagination!

It is important that you leave a separate comment for each type of entry because each comment is equal to one entry. Sorry to harp on this, but it really is that important to tally and select the winners easily, so I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Prize:
(1) Flip Video F260 Ultra 60-Minute Digital Camcorder, ARV $125

This giveaway ends at 11:59 p.m. EDT on Sunday, September 7th. I’ll use Random.org to generate a number that corresponds with the winning comment and post the winner on Monday, September 8th. Good luck!

    Great tips!

We recently gave up the dry cleaners (painful at first) but it has saved us so much money doing our own ironing.

My daughter loved her backpack and lunchbox from last year so much that we decided to use it again this year. These items are pricey so this was a nice savings.

We have a wonderful department store here in California called Gottschalks. They have all sorts of sales and no tax days and days that you get discounts for using your store cc. Theirs is the only store cc I have, and I only buy things on sale. When I have to use my cc for the discount, I stand at the same register and write a check to pay the cc bill. That way I have no fees or interest!

my favorite money saving technique (which also happens to be good for the earth) has been to buy large quantities of fruit on sale in season, then can or dry them to be eaten later this winter when the fruits are no longer in season and cost a whole lot more to buy (because they are being shipped in from across the world).
    thanks! :)

I have made significant changes in my diet that reflect both better nutrition and savings on the grocery bill. Instead of buying expensive dry cereals I purchase large bags of oatmeal. This still makes a quick breakfast…1/2 cup of oatmeal, 1 cup of milk in a microwave safe bowl. Five minutes on high then just add milk, sugar and fruit to taste and voila! a healthy easy on the pocketbook breakfast.

In this day of busy lives, we have cut back on eating out, but it still seems like there are those days when it is the only option for dinner.

Instead of getting our two younger boys each their own kid meal, we order one, and split it for them. This is more than enough food. Also, my husband and I will usually only order one thing too, and share it, and if we are still hungry when we get home, we have a piece of fruit.

It is amazing how much less food we eat this way, and how much money it saves us when we have to have a meal out. For our family of four, the savings range from $6-$15 depending on the restaurant.

Hey there — nice to meet you!

I'm Tara: mom of 5 teens/tweens and one 80-lb. Weimaraner, who fancies herself a lap dog. Born and raised in Ohio (GO BUCKS!!!), my fave things include cooking + baking, my JEEP Rubicon, the 4x4 beaches at OBX, and checking out the local craft beer scene...

As you can imagine, all of this puts a good dent in my monthly budget. So I've learned how to save on the things I NEED, so I can spend on the things I WANT.
