Hopefully you’ve had a chance to check out my first-ever vlog attempt on frugal baby and toddler feeding, so you’ve seen the Flip in action! The quality of the video far exceeded my expectations, and it is SO simple to use.
I was really kind of nervous about doing a video. “You, uh, want me to do what? Put myself on display in a series of videos in front of all my readers? Um . . . okay.” But I had a great time learning how to use my Flip and playing around with Windows Movie Maker. Now that I’ve got one done and relaxed a little, I’m really looking forward to my next vlog!
So how would you like to have one of these fabulous little gadgets for your very own? Courtesy of Walmart and Pure Digital, I have one Flip Digital Video Camera in my hot little hands for one lucky reader to win! You could even use it to win a year’s worth of groceries by submitting your best money-saving tips on video to the Walmart channel on YouTube. I would be SO thrilled if one of my readers won the groceries!!!
Every reader has three methods available to enter this contest. Choose any combination of one, two, or three, for up to a total of 3 entries!!!
1. Leave a comment telling me the best money-saving method or tip that you’ve actually used recently. Make sure that I have some way to get in touch with you if you are the winner. (Either leave your email address in your comment or make sure I can access it from your profile.) Don’t worry, I won’t harvest your email addresses or use them for any purpose other than notifying you if you win.
2. Subscribe to my feed via RSS or email and leave a separate comment letting me know you have done so. If you’re already a subscriber, simply leave a separate comment letting me know you’re already subscribed. Lovin’ my subscribers! You guys make this all possible.
3. Spread the word about this contest in some manner and come back and leave a link in a separate comment. If you have a blog, you can blog about it. But if you don’t have a blog, you’re not at a disadvantage. You could review and Stumble it. You could Twitter it. You could post about it in a forum. Use your imagination!
It is important that you leave a separate comment for each type of entry because each comment is equal to one entry. Sorry to harp on this, but it really is that important to tally and select the winners easily, so I thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Prize:
(1) Flip Video F260 Ultra 60-Minute Digital Camcorder, ARV $125
This giveaway ends at 11:59 p.m. EDT on Sunday, September 7th. I’ll use Random.org to generate a number that corresponds with the winning comment and post the winner on Monday, September 8th. Good luck!

My money saving tip that I’ve been doing recently is shopping at the grocery store more often. Instead of going ever two weeks I go once a week and I am actually saving money. The hubby and I used to do a two week meal plan but then after a week I didn’t want any of the food we had planned and would start eating out. The food would eventually be eaten by my husband but I was spending more money eating fast food.
Going once a week now allows me to save money and eat what I want [which is often much more healthier then fast food].
oooh I really want to win the Flip!

Other than using coupons, buying in bulk when items we use regularly are on sale and not going grocery shopping when I’m hungry, one of my biggest money savers was breastfeeding my girls. Formula is very expensive, breastfeeding is not only FREE, but it’s also very good for your child’s immune system, which also saves you money because you don’t have as many doctor visits or medicines to buy!

My best money saving tip – Walmart will match prices. All stores have loss leaders – go thru the weekly ads, make a list with the products you need, name of store and price (and page number of the ad), shop at Walmart and ask them to match all the prices. Most cashiers wont ask to see every ad, but some do so the list will save time. This is especially helpful at Super Walmarts where you can save on the groceries. I have saved up to $227using this strategy for years. Takes a little time to make your list but the pay off is worth it. Of course, shopping only once or twice a month is a big help too, if you stay out of the store it will definitely save you money!

I try to shop at the grocery store on double coupon day! It really saves a ton of money in the long run, and too, I always go with a list and stick to the list.
I’m now following you on Twitter AND I subscribed to your feed! Can’t wait to see what else you’ve got to share with us.

Hmm, the best one I just utilized was to cancel magazine subscriptions on those one’s I rarely read (i.e. don’t pay for what you don’t want). So: if the magazines are just piling up at your home, cancel the subscription … and as a second tip, you can always read the magazines at a local library … it’ll give a reason to go outside for a walk or something, too ;-)
I hope these help!

One of my best money saving tips came out of necessity, I use vinegar as my fabric softener and vinegar and hydrogen peroxide as a disinfenctant cleaner. Me and my niece both have severe allergies, and I discovered these uses online.
The vinegar works great as a fabric softener, it leavs no odor, makes clothes super soft and eliminates static. I simply fill a downy ball with it and drop it in the laundry.
I put vinegar and hydrogen peroxide in seperate spray bottles and spray countertops, sinks, cutting boards, baby toys, etc. with each. Let sit for 20 minutes and rinse with water, it will kill 99% of all bacteria, is healthy to breathe, is safe for the environment, it’s cheap and it won’t irritate skin for people with sensitivies.

My money savings tip:
Spend more time at home and less time shopping at the malls. Read a book and play with the kids or take a walk rather than ordering pizza, buying toys and just spending money needlessly…

Way to save money that I recently used: At the grocery store or farmer’s market I sometimes buy gently damaged produce and use it right away. I recently purchased some okra for 50 cents a pound (instead of $1.99 – $2.49 lb.) and pickled it! At the same time I got a seedless watermelon that was marked $2. off. I just make sure to use this less than perfect produce right away!
