Which Grocery Stores Double Coupons?

May 24, 2011 by Tara Kuczykowski 837 Comments

One of the questions I’m asked most frequently these days is, “Which grocery stores double coupons in [my area]?” I’ve generally been responding by telling them to contact their local stores and ask what their policy is — but today it occurred to me that perhaps we could create a resource that will save everyone a little time and energy.

So to that end, I’d like to compile a list of grocery stores that double by state, and I need your help. Please scroll down and leave a comment on this post with your state and any grocery stores that you know of that double coupons.

I’ll use the information to create a resource that will allow users to easily look up their state and find out which stores will double coupons. Thanks for your help!

Here in the San Francisco Bay area, we used to have CALA foods and Bell Market and they used to double and triple coupons until they went out of business like almost 10 years ago. : (

in Milwaukee WI, Pick n save will double 5 coupons , up to a dollar each on Wednesdays and temporarily Saturdays.
Once in a blue moon they have a double double day and you can double 10 coupons.
For any of this you must be spending 25.00, I THINK this is calculated before coupons , but I am unsure.

I live in a little town in Tennessee. Unlike Nashville, memphis and other bigger cities we don’t ahve a lot of grocery stores. Jackson does have a Fred’s though. Fred’s will double coupons on Saturdays only. Kroger will double up to .50.

I live in New Albany Indiana and the 2 stores that double here are Krogers & Meijers. Both up to .50. So far Krogers hasn’t had any restrictions on # of cpns/transactions. Meijers SAY that you can only do 2 like items, but I haven’t had any issues with that so far. Thank you for taking on this daunting task…you are truly appreciated more than you know.

We live in Omaha, Nebraska and there are really no stores here that regularly allow double coupons. Hy-vee will occasionally allow double coupons up to .55 and once in a while K-mart. It does make it harder to do extreme couponing without the doubling. Perhaps someone else knows somethat that I don’t.

You might try grocery stores in neighboring towns. My family is from Omaha, too, so I realize neighboring towns aren’t very convenient LOL But depending on how seriously you coupon and what kind of sales might be near by it might be worth it …? Even the same stores in different zip codes have different policies.

Same in the inland empire (Riverside and San Bernardino Counties). We also have a little independent grocery store, jensens that will double up to $2!! (However, they are usually so expensive that it’s not worth it.)

Brookshires in North Dallas, TX triple to $.39 and double up to $.50, but this only applies to the first coupon of like items. :( Any subsequent coupons for the same item is face value. :(

I am on Long Island in New York. . All the grocery stores double up to .99, but King Kullen is the only one that will double $1.00 coupons, and only 2 per transaction.

Pathmark has deals for triple coupons every once in a while.

I live in Charleston, SC – Harris Teeter doubles everyday up to .99, Publix doubles up to .60, and Bi-Lo up to .50. Then there are the rare occasions when Harris Teeter triples up to .99 like they did this past week. It has been 14 months since the last triple event

Kroger in Sterling, IL will double all coupons up to $.50, but will only allow the doubling of two like items per order. The third item will be deducted at face value. So far no limit on the amount of coupons per order, but I was told that there is possibly something in the works to change that?

Occasionally, I see Kmart double…but only on certain things (pharmacy, groceries, pet supplies) at a time. And I haven’t seen an opportunity there for awhile now. Other than that, I haven’t found anybody that doubles. Winn Dixie used to, but not anymore to my understanding.

Oregon Coast – Safeway puts four double coupons in each weekly ad, double up to 50 cents. I don’t think all Safeways in the state do that. Don’t know about anybody else that doubles, except the Albertson doubles.
