Which Grocery Stores Double Coupons?

May 24, 2011 by Tara Kuczykowski 837 Comments

One of the questions I’m asked most frequently these days is, “Which grocery stores double coupons in [my area]?” I’ve generally been responding by telling them to contact their local stores and ask what their policy is — but today it occurred to me that perhaps we could create a resource that will save everyone a little time and energy.

So to that end, I’d like to compile a list of grocery stores that double by state, and I need your help. Please scroll down and leave a comment on this post with your state and any grocery stores that you know of that double coupons.

I’ll use the information to create a resource that will allow users to easily look up their state and find out which stores will double coupons. Thanks for your help!

No stores in Northern California double. I heard that a Kmart in Chico Ca had a one day double coupon event, but this is as rare as snow in August. The following stores double in Southern California,
    •Major Market
    •Ralphs
    •Stumps Market
    •Vons (South California)

I’m in Southwest Washington, Vancouver area…

Safeway doubles up to 4 coupons at $0.50 each (so up to $2.00 total) per transaction. Some cashiers/stores will let you do back to back transactions.

Albertson’s in our area have Twice the Value (TTV) coupons that double coupons up to $1 (if it’s $1.01 you’re out of luck), up to 3 TTV’s per transaction but you can do 3 transactions back to back. They release these periodically in the Sunday paper and they’re good Sun-Tues when offered.

Martin’s doubles up to $.50, but the makes a coupone between $.51 and $.99 worth $1.00 (ex. $.75, $.25 of it double for $1.00 off). There is a Bloom’s grocery store in New Kent, VA. They double up to $.99 everyday and have started having super double Tuesday where they doble up to $1.99.

I go to Pick n Save in Waterford, Wisconsin. They double your first 5 coupons (up to $1) (so $1 would double to $2) when you spend $25. I divide my order up into several separate $25 orders so I can double more coupons that way. Lots of people do that, and the cashiers seem totally fine with it.

Kroger in Knoxville area will double up to .50 cents. Ingle’s will but their coupon policy is so complicated that it really isn’t worth the time or trouble and the corporate office is no hep at all.
