Target: $3 Columbia Pictures Movies

July 31, 2009 by Tara Kuczykowski 78 Comments

Target $3 Movies
What a great way to stock up on some early Christmas gifts! Print the $2 off Movie Staycation coupon (Target version), and take it to Target to get a number of movies for only $3.

The coupon is in PDF format, so you can print it multiple times, and it’s valid on any Columbia Pictures movie, not just those shown.

Reader Teresa got the following movies for just $3 each:

  • Madeline
  • Little Women
  • Muppets From Space
  • Elmo in Grouchland

If you find other $5 movies that would work with this deal, please share!

So I was pretty overwhelemed whenI got to the dvds at Target and wasn’t sure how to know what was included, so I did a hail Mary and just grabbed 3 random $5 kids movies. I think 2 went through okay and I she pushed 1 through. I got Dr. Seus Green Eggs and Ham (may have been the problem dvd), Bob the Builder, and Blue’s Clues. I am not sure why any of them worked though because none of them are Sonny…. ????

To sweeten this deal combine it with the Crest whitening strip deal. The 2 packs that are 4.99. (found on an end by the pharmacy) $5 coupon in 6-7 P&G. There are $7 off in the package. My cashier took the whole $7 off, so the overage went towards the movies.
3 packs of crest whitening strips
    3 movies @ $5 each
Final price after coupons $5.07 ($2 was tax)

Thanks Tamara – I used your promo code with the UPC from The Muppets Take Manhattan I had at home already and that worked too – now I only have to actually buy 2 @ $3 each to fill the passport for the free ones from the Sony Staycation site. I was at Target yesterday and they had at least 15 different titles with they yellow code peelie on the front. Of course, there are TONS of movies that the $2 coupon will work on, you just have to hunt or make a list from the ones shown on the Staycation site. If you choose”other” instead of Target as the retailer you will see a bigger list. Only problem is it prints sooooo small it is hard to make out the movies from the printed page. Ghostbusters and Daddy Daycare are 2 more that are $5 at Target and are on the list. They also have a bunch that are $7.50.

Since they are not unique, I think we should post the UPC codes and all take advantage of the free giveaway. I don’t know if the X7G6L code that Tamara posted is different on other types of movies. I tried it on all of my Sony/Columbia/TriStar dvd’s I have at home and only the childrens’ movies worked with that code. All of the Sony UPCs start with 043396…

    Muppets Take Manhattan is: 043396056169

Here are some more titles from that brand:

    Bye Bye Birdie
    Wildthings
    Trouble With Angels
    The Way We Were
    Somethings Gotta Give
    Daddy Daycare
    Matilda
    Stepmom
    Charlie’s Angels
    Wedding Planner
    Hook
    Muppets in Space
    Cruel Intentions
    Karate Kid 1 & 2
    Stripes
    Short Circut
    Little Women
    28Days
    Donnie Brasco
    A Few Good Men
    Jerry Maguire
    My Best Friend’s Wedding
    Ghost Busters
    Dick & Jane (Jim Carrey)
    My Girl 1 & 2
    Stuart Little 1&2
    Anger Management
    Annie
    Pink Panther
    Look Who’s Talking
    As Good as it Gets
    Steel Magnolias
    Rudy
    A League of Their Own
    Les Miserables

I found it easier to shop with a list instead of checking the fine print on the back of every one. The $2 coupon will work on all of these. Not all of them are $5 – some are $7.50, some are $10 and some are more.

You can find the UPC for just about any movie by googling “[movie name] upc” or by searching for the movie on Amazon and scrolling down to the details. Hope that helps!

I entered in all of my codes but has anyone actually seen the free movies they’re offering yet? Not my cup of tea, in the least:

    Casino Royale
    Spiderman 3
    Resident Evil
    Dragon Wars

No family movies at all!! Hopefully they’ll get some better choices before the deal expires on Oct 31.

Wait a minute! You need to click on each set of letters to see what else they have. They don’t all come up at once. Phew!

I found several at Best Buy, too, at $3.99 each. Easy Rider, Pink Panther, and Matilda. $1.99 after coupons. I plan to go back for more before Sunday. Thanks for the tip!

Were you all able to use more than one coupon at one time? At the top of the coupon it says Do not double or triple. Is there a limit to how many you can print out and do you have to refresh your cookies each time to make the coupon change? Thanks!

I haven’t looked through all comments, so forgive me if this is a repeat. I printed out the coupons ; I believe from the Sony link. There was a DVD coupon and Blu-Ray coupon across the top w/movie listing at the bottom of the page. I tried to purchase The Karate Kid ( with Staycation peelie on it) at Target and they wouldn’t let me use the coupon b/c it wouldn’t scan and did not state on the coupon that it was an Internet coupon so they thought it might have been copied. They were actually nice about it for a change, but wouldn’t budge. I am going to change my printer settings and print in color and see if it will scan. Anyone else having this problem?

I bought a movie at target. Thinking I would not get to use the coupon. WOW the movie was $4.75 with $2.00 off. So I am happy to say it worked. My target gives me problems every time I go there with coupons. I look on this site load up my coupons and it never fails. They say NO GOOD! An I mean they get fresh. So I was shocked.

Here’s a tip. When you pick the Amazon version of the code a whole picture list of titles shows what’s available. I happened to have a lot of these movies already and wondered if I could register my already-owned titles & upcs with the code that came on the back of 2 that I bought at Target. IT WORKED! Some of the upcs on my titles didn’t work but when I googled for the title and upc code and tried entering varying upcs for the same title (different versions of the dvd- ie, widescreen, special edition..) I got some more to work. It’s an easy way to get up to your 6 quota registered for your free dvd.

I just used the coupon at Target (MN) and had no problems and mine was printed in black and white. Had to use it on a DVD that had a yellow sticker on it that says I can get $2 off my next movie. It was a $4.75 movie and I got it for $3.75 no hassle.
